I have a Nook.  I got a book called "Blue" which I got from the B&N website (so it's a Nook book--not from another site).  The font is much smaller than my eyes can deal with.  For the life of me, I cannot adjust the font size on my Nook.

When I open it in Nook for PC, the font is quite large.  I don't want to read it on my PC though.

Is there a utility that would make this book readable for me?  I'm frustrated because I really wanted to read this one next.  Darn!

It's odd because this isn't a PDF but Nook book.  I did have a problem with an EPUB once.  It was from Goodreads.  They were kind enough to redo the EPUB and then it worked great.

I have the B & W early Nook.  There is a selection in the book detail bar,  Preferences.  After you select the book from your library list.  I need to scroll down to see it.  Right above Audio Player.  That opens to a place to change the font size and style.

Emily, I have used Preference to change both the font and size of font.  It doesn't do anything on this book.  This is the first Nook book that this has happened to me.

Hi Melody,

I saw on the nook forum that other people have experienced this problem occasionally and it was noted that it is a restriction from the publisher. One suggestion they had was to download the sample, if available, so you would not purchase an ebook with a restricted font size.

At least this was a free ebook.  Still, I really wanted to read it!!!!

Just an FYI...I read on a forum that this happens when a publisher puts the ebook font size in pixels rather than em units.  The person suggested contacting the publisher.  Maybe I'll do that.  If they get complaints maybe they will think twice about it.

Just thought I'd let you know that the book is self published.  The author owns "The Fiction Studio".  So, I have sent him/her an email about the issue.  At the very least, maybe they will keep the font issue in mind the next time they put out books in ebook format.

Can you change the orientation on the Nook from vertical to horizontal?  I know with my Sony EReader there's been a few times where I changed the book to horizontal and it forced the font to be larger to fit the page.  It wasn't fun reading it that way, but it worked.

Jennifer, no, you can't do that with a Nook.  That's one thing I wish the Nook did when I'm reading web pages.

I even downloaded the book and added it through ADE thinking I might be able to fool my Nook, but it didn't work.

I'll let you all know if the publisher responds.

Thought I'd let you all know that I got a response from the publisher.  They say that they've never been informed of an issue with the book.  They tested it and had no problems.  They emailed me another copy but I'm having the same problem with it.

So, I've emailed B&N.  Maybe something is wrong with my Nook.  It's just weird that it's only this one book.

I shouldn't say "they".  The author owns the publisher and wrote me back. (kind of cool)

Was wondering what happened LOL   Well maybe B&N can fix it.    Good Luck!

Update: I heard back from B&N.  They had me go through instruction for archiving the book, then unarchiving it to see if this cleared the problem.  It didn't.  So, now I've sent them more information about the order and they are going to check out my actual copy.  Hopefully, they will be able to replace it with one that is adjustable.

So stay tuned... ;)

Any news on the eBook?

Perhaps someone here has Calibre and can convert it into EPUB for you? Since you had that problem before and converting it to EPUB worked, maybe the same would happen with this eBook.
