This has never happened to me before.  I have a PBS book in front of me that is still in its mailing package.  I have not opened it because I can tell by the size and feeling of it that it is a hard back.  The book that I requested is paperback format.   I requested paperback because that is what I want.  What do I do?

Open the book. If it is in fact the book you ordered, but in the wrong format, then mark it "Received With A Problem - Wrong Book". In your message to the sender, tell them what the issue is with the book.

You also have the option of requesting your credit back from them. They have the option of returning it to you, or not.

If they want their book returned to them, they are actually required to refund your credit, and compensate you for the postage back to them (either with a second credit, or by mailing you postage, or money).

More info here .... will go find the link  http://www.paperbackswap.com/help/help_item.php?id=529

  Happy UU!

Yes, open it and mark it as Sara instructed.  A closed package is no help to anyone. Sorry you didn't get the book you ordered, not a common issue.
