Has anyone else seen last week's TIME magazine cover, with the photo of the woman whose nose was cut off by Taliban members because she ran away from abusive inlaws?  The article, pictures and whole mess that women in Afghanistan have to endure makes me so upset.  Brutality aside, some of the things the article mentioned just boggle my mind.  Like for instance, the statement that the Taliban would punish a woman for laughing aloud, or the testimony of one of Afghanistan's first female Olympic athletes that in the stadium where she now trains Taliban members used to play soccer with women's heads.

Religion aside, culture aside, societal norms aside.... what. is. wrong. with. some. people.

Absolutely Heather, saying the Taliban are Muslims, is IMO like saying the Westboro Baptist Church members are Christians.

Makes me physically ill. How can someone so completely strip themselves of compassion and human decency? If one person does this, they are a physycopath.  If a thousand people do it, it's a socially accepted form of punishment.  It baffles me how an entire society can be so blind. It's like the holocaust - as long as everyone does it, it's ok.

The capacity of humans to be so completely devoid of humanity is astounding.

If you think things are bad now as far as wrong headed people and religion is concerned, it is only going to get worse if the CAIR has its way.  The CAIR is the Council on American-Islamic Relations.  I strongly advise all Americans to read Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underwold that's Conspiring to Islamize America.
Author: P. David Gaubatz, Paul Sperry

It is the result of a top notch undercover investigation into a very well funded conspiracy to corrode American society and promote radical Islam. This is very scary stuff. They have the documentation to back it up. It made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. No kidding!

Im torn about how to feel regarding Islam They want to build a Mosque by ground zero, personally I never equated the 9/11 attacks and Islam I equated it to terrorist. The more we lump them together the worse it becomes. If the hijackers had been radical Cathloics would anyone say a word about a catholic church being built there? We cant hold all Muslams accountable for a terrorist attack. the terrorist are winning because they are doing more for the people than we are .We bombed a whole country for the acts of a few zealots now they have there Jihad I've never seen a terrorist act that was counter by taking 2 countries to war.If you lived there you might start to believe in Jihad yourself.

Saudi Arabia is tossing around the idea of paralyzing a man as retribution for his stabbing another:

If this is their idea of how  "to make the punishment fit the crime"  one can only hope that world opinion will somehow disallow  their "object all sublime, I (sic)shall achieve in time". . . . .    What a ghastly twist on that comic Gilbert and Sullivan song in The Mikado . . ."to make each prisoner pent, unwillingly represent, a source of innocent merriment, of innocent merriment."

Well we need to remeber some countries won't extardite a person to our country if they are facing the death Penalty because some countries deem that barbaric. Not saying I do or dont support it just a thought.
