I loved Poison Study, but unfortunately the sequels were disappointing.  I haven't brought myself to read Maria V. Snyder's new series yet.  (I've only checked the first book out of the library twice. :P)

Oh, that's sad to hear Britney. I am really loving Poison Study. I was hoping the sequels were just as good....

Either way, I am definitely reading Magic Study next.

I am reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows.  I love this series, and am sad it will be all over after this.  That said, I haven't seen the movies yet (except for the first).

I just ripped right through The Hallow -- by Jessica Veraday (?) -- I was surprised at how much I liked this one.

I wasn't sure, but after the first 20 pages or so, I started liking it. After Ballad & Lament, pixies fit right in!  But, in snowy states like Maine, a MINI Cooper wouldn't work very well - no traction and low ground clearance.

I finished Poison Study and I am now reading Magic Study. I really loved Poison Study. These would be keepers for me if I kept books.

I'm about to start The Joys of Love by Madeleine L'Engle.  I've been in love with L'Engle since I was 11 (when I read A Wrinkle in TIme) and I've had this book (written in the 1940s but published posthumously in 2008) for a year but I've been afraid to start it.

I just finished Ireland...  I loved learning more about the conflicts in Northern Ireland...  the story is very open ended, so it was written knowing there were going to be sequels...  the deep storyline was very well developed and all, it just needed some lighter notes on the top...  like there were some lighter moments, but even they were intertwined in the heavy story....  but again, I think she just gave hints to that stuff and it will develop more in later books...  oh, and this book definitely has Christianity involved, so if you like that, it was really good!!!

This weekend I read Gone by Michael Grant.  It was really good, though it was long and a couple times I had to make myself keep going.  I'm sure most of it will be important as the series continues, but there is such a thing as too many details, Mr. Grant. :)

Then I read Prada & Prejudice, which didn't work for me.  I found the characters very flat and kind of unlikable.

I've started the second book in the Gone series, Hunger, but I'm having a hard time getting into it.  It's so intense and complicated!

Yes, they are definitely not fluffy, light reads. They are so worth it though. I really love that series. I can not wait until Lies comes out!

I finished Need and like it too.  I better get The Den of Shadows Quartet or Devil's Kiss done next, they're due up at the library soon & both have a waiting list.
