I got an email from a requester telling me that I needed to mark my book mailed so he could mark it received.  The problem is that the book is sitting here so I know I didn't mail it.  My guess is that the previous person didn't mark it mailed in time, but still mailed it.  I told him how to find that person and give them credit and asked that the open request be cancelled.  I haven't heard back and I need to mail the book or cancel it, or it will pass to the next person in line.

If I cancel it, I have to relist so I'm trying to avoid that...however he obviously doesn't want two copies.  My fear is that I mail it and he won't mark my request received and I'm out postage.

What should I do?

Since he already has a copy of it, I would not mail it.

If you have explained the problem to him ... I would wait for him to cancel the request from you. If he doesn't, then let the system cancel it. Or, PM him again and tell him he will have yet another order if he doesn't cancel it.

If you cancel it, the order will pass on again, (as I'm sure you know) ... so you don't want to do that.

He needs to cancel.  If he doesn't respond, I would go ahead and send in feedback to the PBS team and ask them to cancel it - if the system cancels it or if you do, then you'll be at the end of the line when you post it again.

If you are getting short on time-I would contact PBS and ask them to cancel the request.  If he's not on her on a regular basis he might not respond to you in time.

If you have already printed the wrapper, then there's no way he can cancel.

As others have said, if you cancel, he'll just end up with a new sender.

Use the Contact Us link and tell PBS why you need to cancel. They can cancel and prevent the request from being passed along, even if the wrapper has been printed.
