Finished Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank which was not a dismal book at all as I had expected.  What a charming young woman!  No wonder this book has become popular.  Quite enjoyed Kyle by Fire by Mark Minson, but fantasy, after all, is one of my favorite genres.  And, I finished a graphic, Odd Is on Our Side by Dean Koontz which was interesting.  Now I have a couple of Japanese graphics to read which some of my family members are reading.  I'm curious to see what they like about them.  Then I will forward them to a young boy who needs to develop better reading skills!

I've been so crazy with work that I've hardly had any time to myself to read! I'm starting on A Carnal Agreement, hopefully I can get a few pages in tonight :)

I started Half Blood Covenant by J. Armentrout. After about 50 pages I had a WTF moment and went back to my Vampire Academy books. I was too ticked off to finish it. :(

About 80 pages into The Moon and More and I am reminded yet again why I love Sarah Dessen. It has been exactly the light beachy read I have been craving!

Val I was shocked first because she is a good writer. Yeah, Daemon is my book boyfriend... and I had just finished Wait for You and it was pretty good. It just had a lot (like a ton) of similarities with Vampire Academy. While its hard to have a truly original story stealing a story and changing some little facts and names doesn't cut it for me.

I just finished up Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi. I literally inhaled it- finished it in one evening. I loved it. I'm so sad that it's over. Warner... mmmmm. that's all I'm saying so I don't spoil the story for anyone. I really hope she decides to write more. My only complaint was that she rushed the ending. I kept trying to turn the page when I got to the end, and when I realized that was it, I was truly bummed. It's been quite a long time since any YA series has grabbed ahold of me like this one did. I was pleasantly surprised. (The second and third books are what I would consider definitely older teen YA, for anyone with kids reading or considering this series. I definitely wouldn't give these to a tween.)

When I first started the series with Shatter Me, I just couldn't get into it. I put it down after about four or five chapters. The writing style irritated me, and so did the heroine. I left it sitting for about a year. Then my library got it on audiobook, so I decided to listen to it. For some reason this made the book easier for me to deal with, and I started getting hooked about halfway through it. I was curious enough at the end to get the next one (Unravel Me) and the two in between novellas. I devoured them. It's a good thing that Ignite Me had just come out when I finished Unravel Me, because I didn't even wait for my library to get it. I just downloaded the kindle version. (Of course, my library got it in the day after I finished it- Lol!)

I am reading a really good YA book right now

Born of Illusion :: Teri Brown

Set in NYC in the 1920s. It is about the spiritualist and mediums of that era. Very good read.

And gonna finish The Siren by Tiffany reisz now....not YA...more along the lines of Shades of Gray.  Is ok...but don't like the main character much.

It is a nice surprise when you have a book that has sat on you self for a while turns out to be really good. I am reading The Girl of Fire and Thorns (Fire and Thorns, Bk 1) :: Rae Carson. For some reason I just never read it. Well I started it last night and am really enjoying it. I just put book 2 on my WL!!

Anyone else read Crash (book #1) by Nicole Williams?  it was better than I expected, though there were a lot of holes in the story...(where the author just left info out and then brought it back in later like, "oh yeah...")  i'm working on book 3 now (didn't realize i had them out of order!) so I'll have to go back and get book 2 then.

I know it's not YA but I finished The First Phone Call from Heaven last night by Mitch Albom.  It was a quick read, as his always are.  Love em!  And I did finish the 3rd Nicole Williams book, so now i have started the 2nd one that I borrowed electronically from the library.
