Valli?  I've been thinking that it's been a long time since our Gentle Empress has graced any thread with her presence.  Thought I'd start a place here for us to give shout outs to Valli and see if we can lure her out of hiding.  This forum isn't the same without her knowledge, wisdom, and wit.

Valli - If you're out there, I hope all is well and that you'll be back to leading us in your kind, understated way here at the PBS HF Forum!!

I've noticed she hasn't been around as well.  The other person I haven't "seen" in awhile is JenniferW (RainbowsEnd).

Valli and Jennfier, if you're out there stop by and say "Hi!"

To add to the list, does anyone remember Genie (answerquest) posting recently?  Come on everyone!  Come out of hiding!

Linda & I were just mentioning today that we hadn't heard from Valli in a long time. Valli, where are you, Baby? We miss you ...

She posted on the "Somebody Stop Me - I'm on a Bernard Cornwell Rampage" thread!  Woo hoo!  Now if we can just find Jennifer and Genie . . .  I hope all is well with them too.

Hey guys!! I am still here, I just haven't been writing for a while. I kinda burnt myself on reading last year and have been having a slower year this time around. I have still poked around and read the threads, but I have been going out and doing other stuff this year, and haven't had a lot of time to write. I have been spending a lot of time going to the lake and just wandering around the little trails and stuf. I am in a very "nature loving" mood right now. I have really enjoyed the time I have been spending exploring. I do apologize for just dropping off the face of the earth though! My reading has been picking up lately (I have already read 2 books this week), so hopefully I will actually have something to talk about soon!

Good to hear from you, Jennifer!  I felt the same way when I finished my Master's a few years ago.  I went through a period where I didn't really want to look at another book!!

Yes, Jennifer--we've definitely missed you! Nothing wrong with taking a break....after I finished law school, I think I didn't crack a book or even read a magazine for YEARS!

I'm sorry, Shelley! I didn't see this thread! I'm sorry to have done a disappearing act; just have had a lot going on lately. Plus, I've been playing too many computer games and not reading nearly enough.

I need to grab an H/F book though because I miss chatting about books with you guys!!

Valli - Aaack, talk about someone who needs to be flogged with a wet noodle!  Computer games over reading?  The shame, woman, the shame!

LOL!  JK!  Glad you dropped in on us again. I think we've had more than one discussion around here where we don't know the answer or can't come to a concensus and then someone says they wish Valli were here to settle thing.  LOL!

Jennifer - Hello to you to!  So glad you stopped by!  Sometimes our interests take detours! I myself went several years without really rading anything other than non-fiction stuff.   Enjoy your current interests right now and drop by when you are inclined!

Genie ... checking in. Echoing Jennifer and Valli. I was pretty ill at the end of last year. Had surgeries.

I'm fully recovered and feeling better than I have in a couple of years. But when I was confined to bed, I got hooked on that darn Civilization IV game. I can't even tell you how many hours I lost to that game.

It's finally out of my system and I'm starting to read again. I started with a couple of books outside of the HF genre. Seems I have to work my way up to that ... (:

Hi Genie!! I am so glad to see you! Don't feel bad about the computer games...I've been sucked in by some games lately too. ;-)
