"If the sender declines a request for Requestor Conditions or for any other reason, the request will be passed to a new sender, who is not part of this "Deal".  This leads to confusion and disappointment.  The requestor should always be the one to cancel a "deal" request if the deal can't be made."

From the Book Bazaar Tour above, which is well worth reading . . .

I have had a few deals cancelled before because of my "non-smoking books" policy and have received a "non-deal".  Now, after the learning curve, when I do a deal with someone, I'll PM them first with a notice of my request of non-smoking.  When I receive the reply back that it will be ok, then I place the order from their bookshelf.  So maybe, if there are certain requirements that need to be met on either side, it should be stated up-front in the topic /PM and not on the back-end with the cancellation.
