I just sold two books to the same buyer...a first for me! Yay. The label says it is being mailed at the 2 pound rate. Do I have to go inside and show it to the postman per regulations, or can I still put this is the blue mailbox that you drive by in your car? I thouhgt I read somewhere that if you do the PBS delivery confirmation and it has your return address that you don't have to go inside. Don't want to break the rules of the USPS. Thank you!

The only things you have to take inside are:

1.  Over 13 ounces

2.  Bearing ONLY stamps as postage

If you're only using PBS delivery confirmation & stamps for postage and not PBS postage, you'd need to take it inside to the PO counter.  If you're paying your postage via PBS, you can drop it in any blue box.  Provided your package fits down the slot, of course.

As long as it has printed postage, PBS or other, you can drop in your mailbox at home if you want.

SN: I think they frown upon the term "sold" when discussing the swaps.  They have rules about using PBS to get books to sell and people have gotten notes about using inappropiate wording that could be contrued that you are using PBS that way.  Just an FYI!

Hope you are still loving PBS! Did you get to the thrift store?

AH...yes, I meant swapped/traded. That is what we did!! Yes, I use PBS to print out the postage and everything. So, I will be using the drive thru! Good to know. Thanks!

Becki-I did go to the thrift shop. I got 12 books for less than $2. I listed them, and none of them have swapped. However, I used to teach 5th grade. I had a ton of books in the garage that I bought with my own personal money to have a class library. Since I no longer teach, I posted some of those books and they are swapping like crazy! Young adult must be a hot genre!

Packages over 13 oz, bearing stamps (untracable postage) must be passed over the counter to a Postal employee.  Any package with 'tracable' postage is exempt, and PBS printable postage is considered tracable.  Print and Blue Box...go for it Nancy!

I resisted using PBS postage when they first introduced it, but I changed my mind.  I'm glad I did. I love the convenience and the credit assurance.
