So I had a request for WL book and as I was going through it again before wrapping it up I noticed a page was missing. So i sent the requestor a PM letting them know that I had to cancel, canceled the request and went to my bookshelf to take it off. Well it's not listed on my bookshelf! It's in the trasaction archieves with a big red X but thats the only place it shows up.

My question is: is it gone for good or do I have to look out for it in a few days to take it off my bookshelf? I'd hate for it go up again and not catch it to take care of it!

When you cancel or mark that you cannot mail the book, it is removed from your bookshelf.  (if it doesn't meet requester conditions, it's returned to it's original position in the FIFO line.)  So it should be gone for good!

What Darla said.  When you cancel a transaction, the system removes the book from your bookshelf.  If you cancelled for reasons other than postability and wish to offer the book again later, you would have to repost the book.

And major points to you for noticing that the page was missing!
