I sent an audio book out with printable postage yesterday (no extra services). I clicked the mailed button and it clearly processed it (refreshed with new info) but credits were not added to my total and there is no green check mark beside the address. I've done this many times before without a hitch.

So to test, I refreshed the screen and nothing. I logged out and logged back in and nothing. I gave the system considerable amount of time by logging out of it again, yesterday, and checking it just a bit ago. Nothing!

The only thing I can figure is all the maintenance to the site lately is effecting it.

Any thoughts on what to do?

you are not showing the flag under your name as a printable postage user.  Did you use a system outside of PBS?

Well, lookey there, my flag isn't there either and I always use the PBS postage.  Definately must be a system glitch.

There are 3 choices when you print a wrapper:

  • printable postage -- instant credit
  • delivery confirmation only -- you get a quick credit the first time the wrapper is scanned
  • no extra services -- this is not printable postage, you don't get instant credits, you have to add your own stamps or go to the PO

You said both "printable postage" and "no extra services" in your post, so it's not clear which one you used. You can click on PBS Money at the top of the screen and see if any money was deducted from your account. If not, then you did not purchase postage and the package will either be returned to you or delivered with postage due.

Yes, my goof !

I wasn't paying attention to the proper choice. It's been a while since I last did it.

Thanks Kathy A.!, but to Khristine's observation, why no printable postage user flags. I see yours shows up.

Does it go away if you haven't done it in a while?

From my observation, the flag goes away the first time you don't use PBS postage and comes back as soon as you use it again.

Hunter S, so far that seems to make sense. As the above post is the first time I've seen it not there (the first post since I mistakenly chose the wrong option on a mailing label).

I remember reading that the flag indicated the last label you printed.  But it does not quite work that way.  I've had it stick around after a string of non postage labels.  Maybe if you have an open order with postage?

My last two books were mailed with PayPal postage and my flag is still there. Both were marked received last week.

ETA: I wonder if it depends if you have PBS money as I still have that.

I only use the printed postage here once in a blue moon and I find that the flag stays quite awhile.

I think it might be if you haven't printed postage in the past 30 days or something like that.
