I saw that some of you ladies have mentioned book covers and I need to buy one! My family tends to frown upon typical romance covers (I am a people pleaser so I can't stand up to them!) so I usually get ones that have plain covers and I feel like I am missing out on some good stories. My 8 year old son gets the deer in the headlights look when I am just even looking around for books to order and I hate to scar him for life. Do you get multi-sizes? All I have around town here are covers for text books or Hannah Montana covers :(  Thanks!

I got a very nice cloth one on ebay. It's for standard MMPs but I've seen bigger ones. It's held up very well after many months of gym sweat. ;-)

LOVE bookcovers!!

I think PBS sells some under the "Kiosk" tab and "go shopping"

I hear Hardbackers are popular and come in two sizes

Vera Bradley is another

And for fast and cheap, I've been known to use the stretchy textbook covers available at most department stores.  They also fit hardbacks & it's easy to add a ribbon bookmark.

*edited because I still suck at spelling

Thanks! I am going to go hunt around for something nice. I love esty and usually end up finding so much stuff I like :) Hopefully my sons eyes won't be ruined looking at cute prints instead.

I got one on Ebay and another from some place called Fabicwrap.  I only use them on vacation since I don't really take books out and about with me.

I still have a few of the ones I made left if anyone needs one.  They aren't fabric though, so they won't last nearly as long.  I have a couple of Vera Bradley's covers, but I'm nutty for her bags, so I had to have a couple of those in my favorite VB prints:P  They're very noce as far as fabric covers go, but I'm not crazy about fabric covers.  They don't protect well against liquids, and if one accidentally sits against a sweating glass or a wet spot on the table that you missed, it'll soak into your cover without you even knowing it got wet.

I ended up buying one off of ebay, then using it as a pattern to make my own (denim or tan suedecloth - very discreet).

So many of the fabric covers I saw back then were just as embarrassing as the book covers, only in a different way.  IMO, once you're out of your teens, you don't need a pajama print of bunnies, kittens or puppies on your reading-in-public books!

Me too Sharon!  We shall not mention how many years ago I bought a fabric book cover at a craft bazaar, but eventually made a pattern from it.  I've since re-sized it to fit TPB.  As you mention, it's great to have the option of choosing fabrics & trims to suit your own taste.

Katie, Others have mentioned PBS carries bookcovers...l didn't discover it myself either!  If you enjoy crafting/sewing, and find covers you like, there are many options for creating or customizing.  Enjoy!!

*laughing*  I don't need book covers when I go out... I don't much care what strangers think of my reading material.  It is my KIDS I fear.  They look at the covers of some of the books I have and ... go, "moooommmm!!  that's so gross!" (they are 19 and 17).
