I really, really want to read this book.  There's too long of a waiting list on Paperbackswap and, because I believe that it's out of print, it's about $14.50 or so (not including $3.99 shipping) on Amazon.com, Half.com and other big sites.  Does anyone know where I can get this book for less?

Don't recommend Ebay to me.  I tried that.  I'm now in the middle of filing a dispute claim through Paypal against the seller I tried to buy it from.  Gah!!  It's like fate is conspiring against me from reading this book.

Are you looking to own the book? If you library doesn't have it there is most likely an inter-library loan system that you can request it from - I generally have several books at one time from this system for the odd suggestions I get from here :)

Well, I kind of thought about that.  I suppose I can call and see how extensive the my local inter-library system is.  I think the closest copy to me (western PA) is upstate New York.  Do inter-library loans usually expand that far?  My local library is quite pathetically small.

Many states have a system that connects a lot of the public libraries - in Michigan there is a huge list of libraries that participate. There is generally not a charge to get a book that way - I just looked up PA's system and I found the book - http://205.247.101.11/search/t?SEARCH=still+life+with+murder&submit22.x=0&submit22.y=0 ..and if that link doesn't work, the link to the general PA inter library loans is http://www.accesspa.state.pa.us/ -hopefully that helps and you can find it!

It's too bad you didn't post this message...oh, 3 years ago or so....I would have sent it to you. I actually got it here at PBS shortly after I joined and it ended up being a DNF for me so happily traded it off in 2006. I can't even remember now why I didn't bother finishing it. I hope you are able to track it down AND that you enjoy it!

I also waited for this book forever on PBS-but luckily I was able to check out the whole series at my library. You mentioned that the only library you could findit in was Western New York-it is probably my library!   I wish you luck finding it-I really enjoyed the series.  I have been searching used book stores for copies, and so far I have found # 5 and #6 only.

I did email the author to ask her if these books would be re-published.  She said that she is currently obtaining the copyright to them (they belong to the publisher) and she hopes to have them re-issued in electronic format later this year.  You can try contacting her website for more information.  I think it is her name with a .com

Hope that helps.
