I do a lot of  freebies and usually just ask the po to add the additional needed postage.  This takes a bunch of time and irritates the postal workers as well.  I want to get a good 10LB digital scale with a tare.  Does anybody have any ideas on where to get one?  The one at the PO is $39.99.  I dont want to pay that much.

Check on Amazon for the Escali brand. They have a nice one that's $24.95 that weighs down to a tenth of an ounce and I think it weighs up to 11 lbs. I think it's a food scale but I bought one of theirs for my soapmaking too, where you gotta have pretty accurate measurements. I've had great luck with that brand, anyway.

Yep, I bought my Escali at Target for about that. Kitchen digital scales usually are more reasonable.

If you do ebay, try doing a search for "Escali Primo".

Have you checked out the postal scale available in the kisok here.  I bought mine at Walmart and it works just fine.

I picked up one at Office Depot for under $20 and I haven't had any problems.

I bt a digital from the Walmart food section for under $20, but I don't think it will do 10 pounds that's what will get the price up. For that big I just go stand on the bathroom scale and pick it up.
