Brings to life what a struggle it was to survive especially for women left alone up north in the dangerous, enchanting Wild Alaskan frontier during the 1890's Gold Rush.
Readable book. Brings Alaska's gold rush, love and faith altogether. I liked the book and wish there was a second in a series.
Elizabeth sailed to Alaska to find her only relative, her minister brother. She is rescued after having fallen overboard by a bounty hunter, Clint. This unlikely couple struggle for survival in the wilderness as they make their way north. Clint proposes marriage. Elizabeth loves him but feels Clint's past could cost them their future unless she can make him see that heaven is no abstraction in the sky, but something they can experience together...
This Christian historical is set in the late 1800's in Alaska and the Yukon during the Gold Rush. At first I wanted to shake Elizabeth for being so naive and judgemental, but I grew to really like her and Clint the bounty hunter as the book went on, as they both changed and grew as Christians. I particularly enjoyed the descriptions of their journey from Skagway to Dawson on foot.
One of the best books I have read in awhile.
Enjoyed this Christian Romance alot.
