I have The Chronicles of Narnia  books (all 7 in  the box) but I can't find the books anywhere online.Where should I post these? In the bazaar  or the fantsay  section?

both.  If they are WL books I don't think you can post on the BB - but the genre forums have threads for WL items.  If not then I would definately post on both the BB and Fantasy.

try this go to your tbr and add the set - see if it shows up that way.  I tired to post a book not too long ago and it wasn't reconzied.  Added it to my TBR it was recognized.  Then form TBR posted it to my shelf.  Of course with out saying but if  don't say it someone will jump on it.....make sure it is the correct bindings etc - make sure everything matches up.

What is the ISBN - I will see if I can help.

The ISBN is the number you use to post the book,it should be above the bar code.I got these from the England (sent through another stie) but the ISBN # is0007691386  and the bar code # is 9780007691388

Are you looking up each book's ISBN separately, or are you  looking at the ISBN on the box?  Are these older books, or are they published somewhere other than the U.S.?

If you are unable to find them in the system, you can try posting without an ISBN, and then offer the set in the Book Bazaar, or in the appropriate genre forum.

They were published in 2003 in London and are in very good condition, the box has some wear but other than that they are perfect (not even a crease an the spines) they don't show up book by book either.

ETA they are paperback

ok when I added it through my TBR or tried to and  it came back that the ISBN is valid but not in the PBS database.   So add the ISBN manually and then offer in the BB and Genre forums.   I tried to find some info for you as far as weight size and such - no luck sorry.

I am checking there may be a way to add your book using your ISBN that comes with the books that will add it to the system.  I have not gotten a reply back yet if this is the still the case.

If you post the books into FIFO using the ISBN on the set, you will only receive one credit, when someone orders the whole set.

If you want to receive 7 credits for the set, (and mail to the same person to save on postage) then typically, you would offer the books in the Book Bazaar for the amount of credits that you want to receive (which would equal the number of books in the set, or less, if you want to offer a deal to entice someone to order the books).

If some of the books in the set are Wish Listed, then you are not supposed to offer the set in the Book Bazaar, but you can still offer it to people in some of the genre forums. Many of the genre forums have a sticky thread devoted to this purpose.

If you have a valid ISBN, you can post the book, whether or not it is in the PBS system.

You simply post it from the "Post Books" link. When you enter a valid ISBN that is not already in the system, you will get the "Edit Book Data" page, which will let you enter in ALL the information for the book listing, including the binding type, title, author, and so forth.
So make sure you double-check all your spelling  :)

This only works from the "Post Books"  link, NOT from "Post a book to TBR" (or whatever that is labeled)

Actually, if the ISBNs from your books are not in PBS, then they can't possibly be Wish Listed, so ignore what I said above about Wish Listed books.

You can offer boxes sets in the book bazaar even if they are WL.  You just can't ask for more than 1 credit per book.  And you can't ask for someone to post a WL box set to you unless you are #1.  But you can advertise that you have them to find someone who wants the whole set.

Mary,

I was admonished specifically that this is not the case, and that you can't ever ever ever offer WL books in the Bazaar, even if you are offering them as part of a set that has other non-WL books in it.  It was a vigorous discussion. I think I lost the argument.

I was on the same side that you just described.

From the help docs: I would do the BB post first and then when someone is interested you can arrange a time to post them when they can order them.  If they don't have individual ISBNs you will have to post each one without and ISBN.

If each of the books bears a unique ISBN, you can Post each as a separate entity

  • this way, you will earn a credit for each.

If the "box" holding the boxed set bears an ISBN, you can post with that number, BUT

  • this way, you will earn only ONE credit for the SET.

There is not a way to post the books individually yet require one member to take all of them and award you all of the credits for the one bulk request.

If you do post the books individually and want to send them all to one member:

  • you can start a topic in the Book Bazaar Discussion Forum to advise members that you have a boxed set.
  • Another member may be glad to learn of this and request all of the books from you using the bulk request "order more books from this member" feature.

If they were published in England, they won't show up here and also won't be wishlisted. I'd make a post in the Bazaar, offering the set for a certain number of credits. You can make arrangements as to how to place the order once someone responds.

As long as the ISBN is valid, you can add the ISBN to PBS yourself. I've done it for books published in England and Australia.

this came from the data team:
If you enter the ISBN and get the page that asks you to give more information about your book, then you can use that form to post your book using its ISBN. This will add the ISBN to our database along with the information you enter about your book.

If you enter the ISBN and get the "wrong book" or wrong book type (e.g. paperback instead of hardcover), then you must use the "Post a Book Without an ISBN" page.
