I like James Dobson for his no-nonsense approach to life, although I don't agree with 100% of his teachings. I love Beth Moore for a good womanly heart-to-heart. And I enjoy Max Lucado and some of Billy Graham's books.

What about you?

I second Beth Moore, and am also a fan of Donald Miller (Blue Like Jazz)... very thought provoking!

I really like Max Lucado.  His book, It's Not About Me, was fairly short, but very meaningful to me, especially as a new Christian, and coming from the background that I did.

There are several that I enjoy but the one that tops my list is Joyce Meyer who has really helped me in so many ways understand the Word  better and put it's teachings  in perpective in everyday life.

I like Michael Green.  In addition to many other books, his book Who Is This Jesus? is a great little book that I highly recommend to all.

I pick John Piper, R.C. Sproul and R.C. Sproul Jr., Douglas Wilson and C.S. Lewis.  I'm going to try a Cindy Ruvolo book on a friend's recommendation.  Oh and there is a series I like with different authors.  Iaian Duguid is one of the authors.    It's the gospel in the Old Testament series.  Though I don't think that's he official title.

ETA:  Gospel According to the Old Testament.  really good stuff!

I really like CJ Maheny's Cross Centered life book, it is small but life changing. I also like John Piper. I haven't read much MacArthur or Sproul but admire their ministries! I really enjoy Nancy Leigh Demoss as a female author.

Elizabeth Elliot has always been a favorite of mine. Through Gates of Splendor is one of the best books I have ever read.

I especially like Chip Ingram and Adrian Rogers. Elisa Morgan (MOPS founder) writes some really good parenting books. For Bible commentaries nobody beats J. Vernon McGee.
