I found this book, God's Story, online and I'm wondering if it would work as a read-aloud / family-devotion style bible for my sons, ages 8 & (almost) 10.  I was all set to order it based on the description alone, but it lists the ages as 4-8.  Now, I'm waffling.

Can anyone recommend this bible, or another that would be more age-appropriate for my boys, if this one is too young-ish for them?

They each have a God's Word for Boys bible that they take to church and use in Sunday School, but they don't really read it.  I'm hoping to foster more interest in the Word by reading together.  I really like the idea of a chronological bible for them (I'm a big-picture / time-line sort of person, myself).

Can anyone share their own experiences / recommendations with me?

I think this bible makes it interesting for boys.   I also recommend Josh Mcdowells Devotionals.

Hope this helps.
