Search - Whirlwind (Only in Gooding!, Bk 3)

This is my second book in this series. I've not read them in order, but each book can be read as a stand-alone. In this one characters from the previous book were mentioned, and it probably would be nice to read them in order, but I don't think it's absolutely necessary.

This book was wonderful! Some heartache, but lots of laughter and sweet romance. I can see how the main characters in this book will probably be mentioned in the next so you will get just a glimpse of what is happening in their lives.

As a Nanny, Millicent Fairweather poured her energy and talnets into the two young charges under her care---only to have them suddenly and without explanation sent to boarding school. Bereft and unsure of where life will lead her, she agrees to accompnay her sister and brother-in-law to America. They board the Opportunity, confident a better life awaits.

Widower Daniel Clark determines to begin life anew in Gooding, Texas, operating a mercantile. But when his nanny leaves him stranded aboard the ship with his young son, he finds himself in dire need of assistance. Obtaining temporary help from steerage, Daniel is initially taken aback by the pretty bundle of energy who takes over his suite. I enjoyed this book. I love all of Ms. Hake's books, especially those in Gooding Texas.

This is book three of the Only in Gooding series. I really enjoyed this book! I thought it was interesting that it started in England and followed their voyage across the Atlantic and then on to Texas. I really liked Millicent....her free spirit next to Daniel's list-making sense of order made for some amusing situations. I also really liked the way Daniel took in Millie's sister when disaster struck. Very enjoyable book!

This book is yet another example of a brilliant writer going sour when pressed for time.In my opinion, the flavor of this book shows that Cathy Hake was behind on the deadline, and was feeling none too romantic about her husband at the time. The book starts out well, with the heroine being a believable and lovable character and the hero being a lovable, irascable mess- it's all downhill from there: the hero become overbearing (and stays that way- I never saw an appreciable change), the plot was forced and ubrupt,the characters being reintroduced from previous books were almost unrecognizable, and there was no 'love story'. This book ended up being less of a 'happily ever after' and more of a 'he's mean and cutting to me and undermines my self-worth, but because he will take on the support of numerous family members/ people I know, I want to sleep with him.'

its an awsome book. any teenager or even people who are a bit older will love the book, it has lkove it has fain in God. it awsome. in my oppinion it deserves a five star review
