This book kept me interested and I didn't want to put it down. Very descriptive and imaginative, the elephants have their own religion and etiquette. The only downside was the ending, which was a bit of a cliffhanger.

The White Bone is an unsentimental and meticulously imagined immersion into the world of the African elephant . . . This extraordinary novel is utterly believable.
