If you are into French Cuisine and want to try it from the Basics up this book is for you. This is not a non fat book but most recipes are uncomplicated and easy to prepare.

Chef Verdon was the Kennedy's White House Chef. he has recipes from all around the world along with preparations and meal accompaniments like appetizers and wines.

There are recipes to challenge and he gives the French names and the some have the English translations of what the dish is. He's got chapters on sauces and souffles. This like Julia Child's 2 volume French Cooking are mainstays to any culinary kitchen! (in my humble opinion!)

Some favourite recipes are Chicken in Whiskey,3 types of Quiches, Pecan Bourbon Balls and Lime Ice
