This is what the sender wrote to me:

Hello.

I believe my book meets your conditions listed but before I ship it I wanted to ask about a blemish not on your list so that you can decline the book if you think it may not suite your needs.

The words "Delta Public Library" are stamped three times on the page edges (which you see when the book is close; one on the top edge, one on the side and one on the bottom edge. The stamped words measure 1 1/2 inches in length by 1/8 inch high.

Also, the only blemish inside the book is that something was glued and then removed on the first page and there are some remnants still stuck on. Otherwise the pages are in perfect condition with no marks, wrinkles, writing nor highlighting on the pages or covers.

The dust jacket is in perfect condition except for a white label with "330 PIL" on the spine edge which measures 1 inch by 1 inch.

I purchased this book from a library so I cannot know if it was ever in a smoking home. I am a non-smoker and I do not allow smoking in my home nor like to go to places that allow smoking because of the lingering odor. I do not smell any odor at all on this book so I believe that part meets your requirements.

Please write back to let me know if you would like me to still ship this book or if you want to decline this book and wait until maybe another comes along. If you would like to see photos I could take some and email them to you but I don't believe I can send photos through PaperBackSwap. If you want to provide me with a regular email address I could send photos.

Good day.

I thought that if sender can not mail the book to me because of my RC, sender declines so I can go to next person in line who's book may meet my RC? There are no wishers for this book and 3 available, so if I decline then re-wish the book, wouldn't I just get the same sender?

PS: I wouldn't care if it wasn't for the glued part that was taken off.

I believe if you decline and re-wish the book it will go back to the same person. Just have her go back into her account and cancel the request. That way, you'll get it from another poster.

Never decline a WL book or you will go to the end of the line.  The sender should always cancel, uless you don't want the WL book anymore.

I just realized something. I believe the remnants are from the sticky electronic label that they have in the libary books.

Here's the information from the Help Center under How To Use Requestor's Conditions:

Information for the Sender:

If you send a PM about the book describing it or asking for clarification of the conditions:

  • If the requestor's conditions ASKED for contact, the requestor will have to cancel if the book is not acceptable.
  • If the requestor's conditions DID NOT ASK for contact, the sender will then need to cancel if the book is not acceptable.
    • This means that the sender will need to repost the book to offer it for swapping again

It an RC asks for the contact, then the requester should cancel.

There are no wishers for this book and 3 available, so if I decline then re-wish the book, wouldn't I just get the same sender?

Since you say there is not a Wish List, you will not lose anything. You should cancel and let them know to decline the RCs when you request it again.

If there are 3 available then you can't WL it anyway.  You need to cancel so they don't lose their place in line. When you rerequest the book they need to decline your RCS to get it to the next person with the book posted. If all 3 decline your RCS you will have to turn them off or wait until those 3 are requested.

It's an ex-library book, which is postable on PBS. The sticky remnants on the first page are either where the barcode was removed or where a pocket was removed. The whole page could be sliced neatly right out of the book and it would still be postable.

So, she did not need to PM you about this book, since it sounds postable. But, she did, and you don't want this copy, which is fine. But just so you know ... if you really don't want ex-library books, you might want to add that to your RC. Most people will not PM about them first (I know I don't).

But yes, since it is not a Wish List book, you decline the book, and then re-order it but ask her to decline your RC this time.

Sara, I don't care about ex-library books. I was just concerned on the glue part.
