I just got my copy of Mr. Cavendish, I Presume by Julia Quinn in the mail, and youch!  That dude is HOT!  I've seen this cover a gazillion times but never up close.  Who the hell is he?  Anybody know?

Well, holy crap, he's gorgeous!  Get a load of the large image from the Amazon link: www.amazon.com/Cavendish-Presume-Dukes-Wyndham-Book/dp/0060876115/ref=sr_1_1  Just click on the cover image.  I had hot flashes:P

Yowza!  I put him, I mean, it on my WL, just based on the picture!  (Well, that and I trust your taste in books, too!)

LOL!  I just got it to go with The Lost Duke of Wyndham:P  I have no idea if I'm gonna like it or not.  I think it got panned at a few of the review blogs.  I was thinking I'd shake things up a bit and read that one first though, since most of the reviewers didn't like it because it was the same story from different character perspectives.  Now watch me hate Lost Duke:P

How funny.  I didn't think the cover was all that and a latte on the side.  But I enjoyed the book.  I found it interesting to read "the other side".

Yeah Denise, that's him.  I actually think that cover shot is the best pic out of all of the ones I've seen so far (and yes, I googled him and looked:P).  I think it's because I looked at the others and realized he's probably young enough for me to have at least changed his nappies at one time:P  I'll have to give him his own bookmark though.  Young, but what a cutie.

Oh, Kim, can you give us a bookmark tutorial?? Like, what software, how, etc?? Inquiring minds...

Yeah the Cavendish cover model's a good looking hunk of... male. Is that objectifying too much?? Poor young thing, all these women drooling over him like he was a piece of meat. Prime. Sigh...

My theory on Lost Duke/Cavendish: you will like only one of the 2. That seems to be how people discuss them on forums - liked one, not the other. Even the writing style is very different. I found Lost Duke had lots of short sentences. Short. Lots. One or two words. And short paragraphs. Very. I wondered if that was to reflect Jack's [tragic, obstacle-inducing] learning disability - maybe he was ADD or ADHD or something. Cavendish, on the other hand, IMHO, had more depth of style, and showed the characters with more depth too. But not everyone felt that way.

So, Kim, how long did you sit with your nose to the bookcover when you got it? My husband has caught me staring at a bookcover a time or two :lol

I just got him ..... it ..... today too!   I had to gaze for a bit at him, then lookedat her -- she's not a match!!   I read the other a bit ago and liked it, and I'm betting I'll like this one as well.  Are you starting it soon, Kim?

I read that last week. I spent a lot of time just gazing at the cover.  I'm so proud of myself for not drooling on the book and ruining it.

He's cute but I agree with Ani, he's not the best looking guy I've ever seen.

He does look better (much) when you blow up the picture...but he doesn't even look the same on the model page.  Are you sure thats him?  He looks completely different on that site.  Sexy *drool*on the book cover but he doesnt do a thing for me on that model site...

I can tell he's the same guy, but you're right, he does look different in the pics on the modeling site.  I don't think he's the most perfect specimen I've ever seen, no, but that cover pic is absolutely yummy.  I wouldn't mind gnawing on a rib or two:P  I don't like men that are too pretty anyway.  They have to have at least some minor flaws or I start feeling a little too self-conscious about my own:P  I'm going to start this book as soon as I finish Mine Till Midnight, I think.  Then I'll try to wait a week or two to read Lost Duke.  I'd do it in the right order, but this cover is killing me - and yes, I'm drooling too...

Melinda - For bookmarks I use this photoshop program I have.  It's called Photoimpression by ArcSoft.  It came with an old digital camera I used to have, but I think there are downloads for it online.  I just create a background in bookmark size - about 6 inches long and 2 inches wide, and then paste images I want to use onto that.  I usually line up about 5 or 6 bookmarks on one 11x8 plain background and print them on cardstock, then print whatever pattern I'm using on the back, and laminate them front & back with adhesive laminate sheets before I cut them out with a paper cutter.  Punch holes, add ribbon, and viola, instant bookmark - all ready to drool on... Purely to protect those precious book covers from the occasional dribble, of course:P

All I can say is Thanks the powers that be that they put a man on the cover instead of the a boy.  What is it with the new covers with 19/20 year olds on them.....

Willa, there was a discussion on this site many months ago about how we all wanted men who took up six pages(both sides) to make love to a woman. We even thought about having tshirts made up. lol

I could go for six pages of that guy:P  Oh yeah, I'm there.  With bells on:P  Any chance of six pages in Mr. Cavendish?  Otherwise I'll have to print out a blowup of this pic and paste it over my little reading nook for inspiration when I find a six pager:P

Awww, I don't think Quinn does six-pagers. We need to get that guy on a Lisa Marie Rice book. ;-)
