Thanks!  I got it from the library yesterday and read it last night.  It was a very good story which I enjoyed it a lot.  Though I do like erotic reading and sexy romances, it was a nice change to read a "love" story without explicit sex.

Hey Dawn -- that was me.  I recommended it on a Bookshelf Winners thread.  Wasn't it a great story?  Her sex is not excplicit, but shows up when necessary :)  and she is a lot more explicit in some of her other work.  Try Twice Loved.  Great, great story.  I would recommend anything by Spencer.

Thanks, Monica.  Will have to see if the library has that one.  "Years" was the first book I've read of hers.

ETA:  Just checked on-line and they have it and it's available, so I'll be swinging by there after work to get it.

That was a great story, wasn't it? I wwas also tuned onto L. Spencer by a PBSer and I'll be forever thankful. Right now I'm reading Hummingbird. Only a couple dozen pages in, but so far it seems interesting.

Ok, I have many of her books in my TBR mountain but have yet to read one. I might have to move a few of them up a bit.

Years is one of my favorite Spencer books.  I loved it!  "Twice Loved" was really good too.

I read all of her books when I was in high school.  I was a HUGE fan.  Fortunately, I saved most of her books because I can't even remember what they are about now.

I might consider rereading them.  You are all getting me in the mood.

I do remember the end of one book (not sure which book) that has stuck in my mind all of these years.  I don't want to say it on here because it would be a spoiler, but it does involve heaven :-)

Does anyone remember that book?

LaVyrle?  Almost all her stuff is good!  I loved The Endearment, Hummingbird, The Gamble, Morning Glory, Separate Beds, Bittersweet, Spring Fancy, Sweet Memories......  (I didn't have to look those titles up, either!)

And I don't usually "do" sweetsy books!  Those are pure *sigh* candy though.  I've reread them a zillion times!

Kimberely -- The "Heaven" thing might be from Then Came Heaven which was her last book.  I really didn't like that one at all for some reason.  But everything else I have read at least 3 times each.  I read all of her stuff when I was in my early 20's and then gave all the books away.  Then I remembered them and started collecting her stuff with it's original jackets.

Vows was incredible and so was The Gamble and, oh, I could just go on and on :)

I really love Spencer, too.  The only exception would be Separate Beds - I disliked the "hero" in that one from beginning to end.  But her others are so wonderful that she is one of the few authors I collect in hardback for less wear and tear on re-reads.

I'm a big LaVyrle Spencer fan too. "Years" is one of my favorites. "Morning Glory" ,"The Fulfillment" and "The Endearment" are also keepers for me!
