What a good idea this book is! When I was reading it I wondered why on earth nobody had written one like it before....Judging it simply from the actor's point of view, when you are asked to play a part in Shakespeare the very first thing you want to do is quickly turn up a book that says, for instance, this is the person who comes on at the end with that marvellous news! So I think that this book, miraculously concise, will certainly be the actor's friend. But not only that, it will be a book for students, and one that can be picked up like an encyclopedia or a dictionary--but very much more entertaining.« less
