So, today I got a book back that I had sent a few days ago.  It has a sticky on it saying it is being returned because mail over 13 oz with stamps needs to be taken to the PO.  The package is 8oz. (I have a USPS certified scale that confirms this)  ????  Now I have to PM the requestor and apologize for the stupidity of the USPS.  Back in the mail tomorrow...

I'd take it to the PO, ask for the postmaster, and ask them why it was sent back.

I have found that a good way to avoid this is to write the weight on the package in marker when I am mailing with stamps.  Even the morons seem to get it then.

Someone probably looked at it and guessed that is was 13oz.
