I keep all my books on my reminder list, including those I'm wishing for (WL), those I've received (TBR), just thinking of (RL), and those on myshelf (myshelf); I use book notes to distinguish them since I am always trying to gather complete series and I can go to my RL and search the author and see all they books in the series and hover on the note to see which ones I have or need. I only take them off my RL once they're sent and even then I mark them with a note (sent) so I can make sure I don't accidently reorder anything (it happens, lol).

Why are they coming off my RL when I order them? I've ordered from my RL before and I don't remember them coming off before. This is a nuisance because I just ordered six books and I had to go back and re-add them to my RL. I know years ago the WL and RL were mutally exclusive but that was fixed.

Is this a new feature or should I have ordered from the book data page?  I ordered several additional books from the same person and even those extra books dropped off my RL.

Maybe I just have to live with it, in that case, this is just a frustrated vent.  Arghhh!

hmmm, I've never had anything drop off my RL it seems. I actually wish they would be removed when I receive them thru PBS or add them to my TBR manually when I have bought a book elsewhere.

I've always had books removed off my RL when I order them. I've been a member since 2009.

I'm with Jennifer--it's always worked that way for me as well.  When I order a book that's on my RL, the system automatically deletes it from my RL.

I also don't think I've ever had anything drop off my RL when I've ordered it or put it on my TBR list. I have often wished that would happen. Maybe I'm just not noticing?

I've also had them drop off my RL when  I order the book.  I keep my shelf books on my RL and also those that I have that are WL but I haven't posted yet, but use a tag to separate those from my shelf books. Pat

Yes, once you order a book from your Reminder List, it should drop off there.  That's how it's always worked.

Why don't you put them on your TBR pile and then use the note feature to mark if you still need it That's what i used to do.  Now I just put books I own there and put a note if I still need the one before it in the series.

I also created a book list of books I can get a my library.

Does this apply only to books you order from your actual reminder list page? If I look up the title independently and order it from the book info page, does it then stay on my reminder list?

OP here- thanks for the responses. I guess in the past I must have gone to to the book data page from my RL and ordered from there, and that way it doesn't drop off the RL (or I just noticed this, I guess).

Mary, the only books I keep on my TBR are books I've received here (system adds them for me) or purchased elsewhere (I add them) so I know what's on those shelves here at my house. I keep the book in my RL the entire time I own it, just changing the note so I know its status as it changes from WL (or RL) to TBR to (myshelf) or I change the note to say sent but remove it from my shelf if it's requested (to keep me from ordering duplicates).

I am going to go through the book data on all my lists to make sure every book is on my RL and its status is correctly noted. I am collecting at least a dozen series and I find it really is the easiest way for me to sort by keyword/author to see at a glance what I have and what I still need.

Ok, I never order from the RL page so guess that's why mine don't drop off.  I have received many books from swaps that weeks later I've noticed are on my RL and had to delete them. (I only use RL to list books I might be interested in getting in the future.)

Every time I've ordered a book, it's dropped off my RL, but I switch between ordering the book from the book data page AND off my RL.

I just really wish once the book is marked received though, it would move to my TBR.

Sarah--When I mark a book received, it's always automatically added to my TBR.  If I remember correctly, when you're marking a book received, there are check box options to add the book to your TBR and your Bookshelf on hold.  Maybe the default on yours is set differently than mine?

so I can make sure I don't accidently reorder anything

the site will actually warn you about that.  if you click to order the book, a warning bar will come up saying something like "you already ordered this book on X date!"/

and it comes off your RL because that is your list to remember what to order, as per the site.  once you order it, they think you don't need the reminder.  they don't know you use it a different way.
