I have two books showing on my archive which were requested by me but cancelled or "timed out" by the senders... both have "was book received" clickable spots beside them!  How can the book be received if they refused to send it in the first place???  These are the only two that show it, and there are others that were cancelled on the receiver end too, I'm pretty sure... ???

Probably because of the "timed out" part.  If a book isn't marked mailed in time it's considered cancelled, but books are often mailed and the sender forgets to mark mailed.  This way, when the book arrives, the receiver has the option to mark the book received if they still want the book.

Because people do strange things around here and sometimes cancelled transactions get sent anyway. As long a you do not receive 2 copies, you should give credit for a book received so they give a way to do that.

Ok, that makes sense.  I checked more carefully and there's only one other that was requested by me and cancelled by the sender, and for it I received a message stating they had listed it under the wrong ISBN or something (though I wish they'd have just PM'd me and given me the option I'd have gladly taken it anyway!!)... those other two must have both timed out.  The others that timed out by my clock I cancelled manually  before the system picked it up because they were WL books I really wanted and another had been posted in the system I didn't want to get away!!  :)

Because people forget to mark books mailed and then mail them anyway.  If this happens you can mark it received so they get a credit-but you don't have to if the request went to someone else who actually marked it mailed.
