Why Cats Paint: A Theory of Feline Aesthetics
Why Cats Paint A Theory of Feline Aesthetics Author:Heather Busch, Burton Silver A Theory of Feline Aesthetics
An unprecedented photographic record of cat creativity that will intrigue cat-lovers and art-lovers alike. As far as we know, no theory of feline aesthetics has yet been presented, at least not with such remarkable clarity and thorough documentation.
This brilliant spoof is beautifully photographed (and photoshopped). The text is just enough over the top to make it clear they're making it up, but it's so well done that a good many people have mistaken it for truth. It's a send-up of both cat books and art books, whimsical and funny and a great conversation-starter as a coffee-table book.
I love books where you are never quite sure whether the author is taking himself/herself seriously or not. Since the authors are from New Zealand, maybe the Corialis Force going the other way brings out a cat's creativity?
