I think there's an Ontario in California too though.

Yes, that's Ontario, California. It's in San Bernardino County, between Los Angeles and Riverside.

That is Ontario, California. The USPS system will not have scanning facilities in Canada since that is a separate postal system.

But that is not a scan of the book on its route, that is just the line showing that the label has been printed.

Wow! I haven't thought of Ontario, California in decades. That is where my plane landed when I came back from Viet Nam.

Ontario, Ca is fairly nice.  I've traveled through there often.  I'd guess that's where it went, otherwise you'd have someone paying international postage.

Interesting...to note that CA appears to be Canada (CN) to some, rather than California (CA).  I grew up in Ontario CA (50's & 60's)...and sometimes I've even thought that CA was Canada, lol.  Yes, Ontario Calif(CA) was a nice little town, especially back in the 50's.  Some folks didn't even lock their doors back then.  My folks didn't.  I didn't have a house key to get in after school.  The back door was just left unlocked.

Ontario has had it's 'problems' over the years.  What I notice especially, when I return for a visit to the old neighborhood, is the failure/vanishing of the supermarkets that were around, common and busy when I was in gradeschool and highschool...that are gone now.  The Alpha Beta that was a few blocks away is a DollarStore of some kind.  (a nice one, tho, lol...I like it)  The gradeschool I attended has long been torn down and is a nice neighborhood park.  The highschool I went to, that was open access all around...now is security-fenced, all around.  A lot of the housing tracts that were new and nice-looking, back then, are old and tired-looking now.  (somewhat like self, lol)  Most all the trees that used to line the downtown broad famous beautiful central area of Euclid Ave for many blocks/miles...are gone, dead these many years (perhaps from disease or storms), and have been replaced several times, I guess, with other plantings.  I know it just doesn't 'look the same' to me, 50 years later, as what I remember.

ah well...time passes...things change...

Nice reminiscences Lou ... I mostly know Ontario as the place they threaten to divert planes to when the coast is fogged in. Fortunately, I've never ended up there myself, though it's been close a couple of times, but I do know a few people who've experienced long late night bus rides back to San Diego as a result of landing there.

I must have been in a brain fog when I wrote the OP.......Ontario just automatically triggered 'Canada" in my mind and I didn't even think about CA being California instead of Canada.......must be all these snowbirds down here!  (I met a bunch of them at the tai chi booth on Sat where I was volunteering doing demos at the Seafood Fest in Dunedin.....in the park right next to the water.)

Considering there is no sign of the book and no scans but the one I posted originally maybe it did make a visit to Canada!

(PBS has already sent me the dreaded 'did you receive book?" email.

Sooooo, I PM'd the sender and lo and behold, book has NOT been mailed......sitting in her hubby's truck all month as he was supposed to mail it!  So why oh why do folks mark things 'mailed' that haven't been?

(was getting concerned cause had it mailed directly to dd at her college address and she's only there for another 4 weeks)
