I keep running into situations where I type a partial title, and then the list of books appears. The book I'm looking for is one of them (or the only one), but when I click on it, or copy it into the title box, or type the title, the book can't be found. It seems like if the title appears in the list...the information is there somewhere!

Do you have the search set to look for "All" books or only Posted books?

I know exactly what you mean, and it happens to me often. When it does occur, I type the name of the author of the book I'm looking for in the author's box on the left side of the page. That usually does the trick.

It's been giving me fits since the beginning, yesterday looked up "Hanta Yo" and it only brought up "Comanche Down" (which doesn't have the words Hanta or Yo in the title.  It appears the fits go in cycles I'll have a few days where I'm better off just not looking and then for several weeks everything will be fine.  I will say when I've used the Advanced Search then I've never had any of the issues (this is what I go to now when it gives me fits).

If it's something I want to wishlist or put on my reminder list, I jump over to amazon and get the ISBN number to use in the search bar.

Seems to work every time.

Also, if you have "always excluded genres" selected under your Settings, I think it applies those to your searches as well as the PBS home page.  So, if you're looking for something that's been categorized under one of your excluded genres (and genre assignments can be pretty odd sometimes), you won't find it.

If you have specific example you'd like to share, Jodi, feel free to PM me and we'll see if we can figure it out together. ;-)

I always use Advanced Search now because I have such a slow computer--when I forget and type a title in the quick search box that can also be key words for hundreds of books, it takes forever to load.

Ah, it might be the always excluded genre. Thanks, I'll PM you when I get home for a minute tomorrow, Elizabeth. The ISBN isn't found here (I've searched for it a few times over the past couple/three weeks, and not finding it by title seems odd too.

The ISBN number search can also be a little hazardous depending upon the age of your book. I've notice that it can be hit or miss until pretty much the advent of the internet/Amazon (mid to late nineties) whether a book would actually list it's ISBN's. I've even received a hardback book published in 2003 that was listed under the Short ISBN because the publishers given ISBN wasn't anywhere to be found (spine, flyleaf, back cover ,inside of the dustjacket, nowhere).

I've been having that same problem with searches. AND have never had any luck using "advance search".

Just now put in actual book title "The Rite" and it gave me the book but also a bunch of Christian books not related at all to exorcisms. However, If I put "exorcism" in the  subject line it weeds those out.
