ETA--I'm an idiot who can't hit the right key on the keyboard

What I wanted to ask was if there is a way I can find out why my request for a book was cancelled by the sendor?  I know that requests cancelled for RC don't show up in the transaction archive, but was under the impression that I would be notified if my request was cancelled for that reason.  My transaction archive shows several books that have been cancelled by the sendor, but I have no idea why.  Any advice is welcome :)

When your request is cancelled, you will receive an email, and within that email there should be a reason for it.

If the reason is that the person did not respond to the request within the time alloted, when you look at the transaction in your TA list, it will say that there was no response within the alloted time.

I received an email today about a cancelled transaction, but the email was blank where the person should have put a reason for cancelling.

I have never received an email about a request being cancelled due to my RC.  I only asked because I noticed in my transaction archive that the book was marked with a red 'x" that said request cancelled by sender.  I was just wondering if there was any way I could figure out why it was cancelled. Just curious, (read Nosy) I guess :)

Also, do I have to do something to start getting those emails about cancellations for RC?

What are your RC's? If you are getting a lot of cancellations, you might want to check how your conditions are worded.  Some people decline anything that isn't a straight forward "no-smoking" request.

It's possible that the sender couldn't find the book, or realized that it was damaged in some way.  Or maybe some personal emergency came up.  When you click on "request details" in your transactions archive, sometimes you can get an idea what happened just from the time log.

Thanks everyone.  I just hate not knowing I guess.  (inquisitive by nature) :p

I don't think you get an email if it times out, as long as there is another one in the system--then your request just gets passed on to them w/o any notice.

I like your avatar, Heather.

Thanks Kayote, it took me a while to figure out how to get one, and even longer to find one I really liked enough to live with it for a while.  This one is called "Rose in Rain"  and I got if off an avatar website--just don't ask me which one, because I looked an several and don't remember which one this actually came from :)
