My son came and looked over my shoulder while I was browing in the book bazaar today.

my son: "Are those all love books?"

me: "Yes."

my son: "You should order them!"

There ya go, blame it on the poor, defenseless kid...  I sometimes tell my husband that the cat talks to me and tells me to order all those books.  We're sick, I tell ya...

Can I blame your son, too?  I really need a good excuse as to why I have about a dozen books in my TBR pile and I continually browse peoples shelves for more.  Although I guess I could blame my own daughter who , herself, has gotten hooked on the game.  She practically swallows every A-List and Clique book out there.  It's really painful when I walk out of Barnes & Noble after dropping 10 bucks and 3 hours  later......she's done with the book :0

She's her mother's daughter ;)

I am blaming my older sister who would leave her Harlequins laying around when we shared a room

Picked my first one up at 8....never looked back

Are you sure your son isn't  encouraging your book addiction because he knows if you are totally absorbed in a book he can get away with more things? LOL, atleast that is how it works in this house with my kids, if i have my face buried in a book they are sneaking food up to their rooms or asking me questions that will get a " whatever,i don't care" response because i don't want to be bothered. Ahhh they learned so young! lol

I have no kids. But I do, however, have a boyfriend that calls historical novels "trashy,"  in terms of steamy, sensual passages in the novel. Sometimes I wonder how would he know how historical novels are written unless he had read them.

Heh - I was telling my hubby about the "precious load" post and laughing, and he said "I worry about you girls".

Heh, my son isn't the only one who calls them love books!

My husband and girls call them my "Porn" books.  They often pick up a random book and will read out a page in a dramatic voice and unfailingly get something juicy, hence stopping any argument on my part that they are NOT porn....

Yet they haven't come across a "precious load" yet - that might scar them for life. (That would teach them not to make fun of me.)

I get teased at work all the time about reading "porn."  Now I just say "yep, and proud of it!"

I tell my Hubby that I read so many romance novels because we have a great relationship and I'm looking for a book that is even half as good as us. I havent found it yet so I'm still reading.

Aw, that's so sweet!  My husband actually really likes books about family guys, like him, and they're hard for him to find.
