I don't know if any of you have ever done this but I seem to do it often.  I started a book this morning and did nothing until I finished it.  I have so much to do around my house but what have I done all day - read my book!!  I guess that does speak highly for the book though!

I started a book this morning and have only about 50 pages left, so I'll be finishing it tonight also! lol. Well there are worse things we could be doing...

I've been there, done that. :)

I've been a bit of a reading slump (for a couple of days) but I'm sure I'll be over it soon! :)

I've been in a bit of a slump too...maybe due to the warm weather??  I've been having a tough time finishing anything.

Started a book this morning, finished it about 2 hrs ago. Now I have to get off my butt and do some house work.  But it does feel sooo good to just kick back and  read after working all week.

Used to do it all the time! Now that I also listen to audio books, I'm usually listening to one book and reading one book at the same time. When I have a lot to get done around the house, I just grab my MP3 player and listen to my audio book instead. :)

Oooo.Audio books. I can't belive I didn't think of that sooner. Thanks for the tip. I find I have to reward myself for good behavior.I say "self- If you do the dishes and one load of laundry you can read two chapters in your book." Otherwise my house would be in a shambles and I would be divorced. My husband informed me I had to go to readers anonomous when my TBR pile overflowed the bookshelf and started creaping in to the hall..lol

Have I done that?  Many, many times.  For many, many years.   Probably do it till the day I die!  They can bury me with my book in my hand.

Finished one, read one and started the third!  Woke up in the middle of the night and finished it.  Mercy, I don't think I've ever done that before PBS.

I used to do that all the time, but now that i'm attending college and working all day, i just seem so burnt out. I'm sure once work slows down i'll be good to go again.

I stayed up way too late last night finishing a book. I want to curl up and go to sleep now, but have to pick up daughter and watch the Celtics tonight.

Maybe get in a little reading.

Silly rabbit! Why on earth would you interrupt reading for other things like housework?  Really, one must have priorities! (Mine's reading.) In fact, why start on housework at all. Just pick up another book from your TBR.

My TBR's now partially stacked on the floor next to my bookshelf because I'm out of shelf space, so really, taking and reading books from it could be considered housework since I'm picking things up from the floor and all... angle

I just rearranged all my books, does that count as house work?

Hmmm, it's Sunday morning. Choices are:

1) Make the bed and straighten the house

2) Start on laundry

3) Dive into some documentation of a recent volunteer event to wrap it up

4) Grocery store (cupboards are rather bare - but there's always take out)

5) Chuck it all, pick up a book, and start reading

Decisions, decisions...

Woke up, made coffee.

Checked PBS while coffee brewed & while drinking first cup.

Brought dirty laundry to laundry room, sorted clothes, started first load.

Read while drinking 2nd cup of coffee.

Loaded dishwasher & took out frozen beef for spaghetti tonight.

Read another chapter in my book. Brought DH coffee & bagel in bed (no, no, it's not like that. He's on bedrest after testicular surgery). Put soccer on TV for him.

Started 2nd load of laundry.

Paid bills online & checked PBS while uploading bill payments. Printed a few PBS labels for mailing on Monday.

Read another chapter of my book.

Started 3rd load of laundry & folded first load.

Read another chapter, checked PBS, posted here and felt very smug...about how many chores I squeezed into my reading time! :P

LOL!

i have - more than a few times - sat down and read a book straight through and just ignored everything else even though i had lots of other things i should do.  so i *mostly* just don't pick up a book in the first place until evening anymore - and then i tend to have to force myself to stop reading at 2am.  unless i'm almost done, in which case i might just finish it anyway..

if it's morning, it's more likely to be a book i'm in the middle of, did not want to put down but went to bed anyway, and if i pick it up and start reading i might very well not stop until i'm finished.  fortunately i'm usually done before lunchtime in those cases so i do manage to eat and some point.  ;)

I started reading anthologies.  I can read one story and then do some housework.  Another story and then more housework.  Finally the last story after dinner.  If it's a full lenghth novel then forget it.  Nothing gets done until I finish it. lol

LOL I have totally done this.  Cause there is no way to hold your book while your trying to shove laundry into the dryer.  And you cant read while your doing dishes you might get the books wet.  However I love Danyun's way of thinking if your picking them up from your tbr pile on the floor it is totally cleaning LOL!

Anthologies are totally a good idea there are a few i'm wanting to read might have to try that.

I cant seem to get into audio books.  I'm not sure why even it is a book i would read and love I just cant listen to someone else reading it.  Does anyone else have this problem or am i just weird?
