Lovely start to a 3 book series. Historical fiction (English countryside, 1870s) with a dash of romance and an undertone of faith. Highly enjoyable and I am anxious to start the next book in this series. A quick, satisfying read!

I enjoyed reading this historical fiction novel. It takes place in the mid-1800's. It is about a young, wealthy woman, who is faced with the huge responsibility of providing for herself and her family after the death of her husband.

A woman used to having servants has to resort to serving. A good book, even as a stand along.

One of my favorites that I have read this year. The storyline is similiar to several other books I have read but Julia's character really drew me into the story and I loved her reaction on first seeing Larkspur. This takes place in the late 1800s near London. Looking forward to reading the next in the series.

One of the loveliest books I have read in quite a while. Just finished it and I am excited that there are three more in the series. The characters are rich. I am drawn to the widow, Julia. She grows so much as the story progresses. From tragedy to triumph. The boarding house she establishes after losing her husband is beautiful and the occupants are colorful and entertaining. The moral lessons her son learns are important lessons we all could use a little more of in our day and age. The setting is in England in the 1860's. I recommend this book highly. Prepare to enter a time of simplicity and see how God can make the difference in getting through the tough times.
Follow the dreams and determination of widow Julia Hollis as she leaves the comforts of London to make a new home for her three children in the quaint dairy village of Gresham. Her challange is to trun an abandoned coaching inn into a lodging house for affluent people wishing to escape city life. Raised in wealth and privilege, with no experience at managing even her own household, Julia learns to depend on God for the daily challanges of her new undertaking and receives unexpected blessings and a hope for love along the way.

I loved this series of books! Very sweet Christian romance!

I loved this book! It is a period book and it is a story of courage and a strong faith in God. The characters are charming and real. Life in a small town can be so very rewarding and when the good things start to happen, you want to cheer for the main characters.
