Do you have a Wii Fit?  Can I please have your opinion on it?  I got a Wii a couple of weeks ago and have been looking for a Fit but can't find one yet.  Is it worth the $80?

Thank you!

Terri

I love my wii fit.  It was a great kickstart.  I especially loved it for the yoga, because it has a way of telling if you doing it properly.  I also loved it for the strength training, because it can also tell you if your doing the exercises properly.  It has step aerobics.  Which are good.  now that I have been doing it for a little bit I have my kids do the steps on the wii balance board, and I do it on my bosu ball.  Just for added workout, because the workout doesnt change.  I like boxing,   I wish they had a kick boxing thing.  The balance games are good because the truly do help you work on your balance, which can help strengthen your core.  For me and my family, it was very much worth the money.  I wish they would come out with new aerobics, but i havent  heard anything about it.

Off the top, I just got the wii game My fitness coach, and I love it!   The exercises are constantly changing,  you don't need the balance board, you just do them on regular floor.  The only thing is, it is on the honor system.  You weigh yourself, and you have to do the exercises to the full intensity.  You can change the intesity of the workouts, or they change as you get further along.  it was only $20 at gamestop.

ETA--- I think the wii fits will be easier to find now that the holidays are over.  We just called all the walmarts till we found one in our area that had it in stock.

Hi Shannon, thanks so much for your input!  I didn't even know about the My Fitness Coach game, maybe I'll try that one first.  I certainly need some help and motivation, and I just love the Wii.  If only I could get the thing out of my son's room so I can play it!  LOL

I'll check out GameStop, they have a really good selection usually.

Hey Terri-

I got the Wii Fit for Christmas and LOVE it. I'm a big fan of the yoga and balance exercises. I definitely think it was worth the cost. And there are other games compatible with the balance board... and hopefully more to come in the future!

I too am going to check our gamestop for My Fitness Coach! Sounds like a good one! :o)

Thanks Carol and Shannon!  I've heard enough, between what you say and what I've heard from my friends, the Wii Fit seems like it's totally worth the money.  Now if I can only find it ...

I'm also going to GameStop and look for My Fitness Coach!

I love my Wii Fit. I watched the sale papers and Kmart had an ad for them saying they were available on Tues am. So I showed up when they opened that day and got one. Good luck!! I can't believe they are still so hard to get!

I am also going to check our My FItness Coach. I saw and add for it, but didn't want to buy without hearing from someone on it. Thanks!!

Good luck everyone getting Fit in 2009!

Definittely worth the money!!!  I got my Wii last year and Wii Fit for Christmas just recently... WOW.  Sure looks like it's easy, but it's not.  Good workouts but the challenges and games make you motivated!!  It keeps up with your weight loss and BMI as well as what exercises you did that day.  I plan to buy My Fitness Coach and/or Jillian something game.

thanks for the tip on the My Fitness Coach, I didnt know about it either.  I just got my Wii and the fitness. I dont like doing things on that little board, it makes my back hurt more when I stand on it, to do the yoga, etc.   I am just a beginner on it, so I hope to make it work for me.

I still haven't been able to find one of these in my area, as soon as a store gets a shipment in they sell out. If anyone else is still looking for them I suggest you talk to the employees at the stores. I was able to find out when the shipments come in at my local best buy and how often they usually get shipments of wii fits. Now to aquire money and stalk best buy.

I don't have a wii fit yet, but our local GameStop shops had them before all last fall. Try them...

Just want to add my .02 cents here.... I love wii fit, and I've heard wonderful things about my fitness coach. I've read that it's actually a remake of a game for another system, but who cares, it works.

To Jody and anyone else considering, I strongly urge everyone to SKIP the jillian michaels game.  It is absolutely terrible. SO much of it involves running in place. Forget using the nunchuck and wiimote, you'll end up slapping yourself in the face with the cord. You need to use two wiimotes. controls are annoying. i guess technically you could get a workout out of it, but it's just so boring, frustrating, and awful. it pales in comparison to any of the other games.

Rumor has it that gold's gym is working on a wii fitness game. now THAT is one i'd be willing to give a shot.... at least i could justify not getting myself a gym membership :)

That is what my DD had to do before Christmas, she found out that Toyr Us got delivers on Tues, so she would go over there. When I decided to buy my own, she did the same thing and I was lucky and got it on the first try.
She has bought some of the games at Game Stop.

We bought a Wii for Christmas.  There after we invested in the Wii Fit and Fitness Coach.  LOVE them all!  My mom bought the Outdoor Adventures game for my girls.  I gave it a try yesterday.  WOW!  Fun even for adults and I got quite a good little workout.  It has a workout mode that keeps track of the days you workout and graph showing progress.

It's worth every penny. My whole family uses it. The Wii board also can be used with other games other than the Wii Fit game itself. My sons use it with their Wii Raymen's Raving Rabbids TV Party.

I need to lose some weight and until we got the Wii Fit (got it for my wife) I had never found a workout I really liked other than outside stuff which is hard to do in the winter. I have been using the Fit for over a week every day and it's great.

My wife is part of the Weightloss Challenge in the games forum and she absolutely loves it too. Our oldest DS is a bit overweight and so far he's really enjoying it also.

There are lots of different exercises and it even includes yoga, strength training, aerobics and more. It keeps track of your weight, BMI, and your training too. We highly recommend it!

I FOUND ONE! Took the advice of the girl I talked to at Best Buy and called last Friday to see if they had any in stock, sure enough they did. I really like it. Unfortunately I am sick so it hasn't been getting much use other than the first day I had it. I can't wait to check out some of the other games that have already come out for it.

I checked it out on Amazon and they were out.  They sent me an e-mail Saturday telling me they had received a shipment.  I immediately ordered it to find that they had two left!  Only one Fit left!  I got them both and they should be here either Tuesday or Wednesday.   Hooray!

Well, I received the Wii and WiiFit yesterday.  Can someone loan me a five year old to set it up?  LOL

I managed to get all the parts of the Wii out, batteries in the remote.  Then had to get on with the rest of the day.  Maybe I'll actually get it set up tomorrow.  Not easy for us old folks with no kids or teens around.

I love my Wii Fit, I got it for christmas and have done it every day since. I have started to get kinda bored with it since I do it every day, and I have kinda hit a weight loss plateau, so I got the "fitness coach" last week. LOVE it. I was going to by the Jillian Micheals one but the guy at gamestop talked me into the fitness coach instead.

I also reserved a new game coming out in May called EA sports-Active. It is done with Bob Greene. The guy at gamestop said that they already have more reservations for this game than they had for Wii Fit when it first came out.

I just bought a Wii and Wii Fit yesterday - doing my part to stimulate the economy, lol!

I'm so excited. I did 45 minutes yesterday just playing around - how fun! I'm hoping to do 45 - 60 minutes a day.

I was going to buy a year's swim pass, but I knew I wouldn't go that often, especially when my work schedule picks up to 10 - 14 hour days in the summer, and I get so sick of my hair being wet all the time. It's awesome that this is just...in my living room, all the time! :)

Today I saw a show that had WiiFit as a way to get kids off their backsides and excercise.  They had an 11 year old overweight boy that was addicted to video games running a race and loving it.

I was plaing tennis for a bit and bowling.  Just because I've never used a video game like that before.  I have WiiFit unpacked and maybe I'll get it set up tomorrow.  I really want to excercise about 30 minutes a day which will certainly be more than what I'm doing now.

I did the Wii fit for a 75 minutes yesterday - over half of that was cardio! By the time I was done I was sweating and exhausted. I'm addicted to the step aerobics, and I love the free step!

I really like how easy it is to unlock new games and the advanced modes - you have to work for it, but the game continually rewards you for that work.

I try to do about 30 minutes a day, but haven't been able to fit it in everyday.  I know I have to make a more consistant effort, but until the spring/ summer, my schedule really won't allow for it.  I've been at it for about a month now, and have gained 2 pounds (ooops), which makes me not want to step on it and get "yelled" at by the WiiBoard, asking me to consider which of the many options maybe caused me to gain weight (especially when none of them fit).  Once the weather warms up, I'd like to start walking again, so maybe that's when I will see real progress.  On the bright side, I've had a lot more energy and I am more flexible, so maybe it's all "muscle weight" as my MIL said to me when I mentioned this the other evening.

I posted this over on CMT and Geri suggested I put it here.  Glad she did as I hadn't noticed this thread before.

Our wii has set the time at AM and I cannot change it.  Not really a big deal, but when it is used in the morning, and then again in the evening, it will change days, ruining your cumalative time, splitting it in two.  I did go into the settings, and once it is set, the time is not easy to find again, and though I cycled the time so it should read PM right now, it still reads AM.

Anyone else have this problem?  Know how to resolve it?

BTW, this is not the easy-peasy thing I thought it was going to be.  Due to that balance board, I am even more careful of my positioning in the yoga poses, and whoa, are they harder, and my muscles aching a bit.  And those are the easy poses and I've been doing them for 4 or 5 years now.  And with some of the fun stuff, I find myself working up the heat and panting at the end.  Even my husband was sweating today, and he is in pretty good shape.  This is a great device.

A funny story one how I got mine... Whenever I am in walmart I walk by electronics and casually call out to the employees: I know this is a silly question, but do you have wii fit.  They always laugh and say no.

Last week I was shopping after work, around midnight, and I did that  and not even a full minute later I heard overhead: would the lady looking for the wii fit return to electronics.  Even though there were probably 10 shoppers in the store, I yelled out, here I come!  I figured he had found a hidden one and didn't want him to think I had left the store and give it to someone else.  The fellow told me that after I left he picked up the new lading bill for the day and there were 10 wii fits on it.  He pointed to the stack of unopened boxes in the aisle.  Of course, they were in the bottom boxes.

I love shopping when most others are sleeping!
