Reading this in paperback form now, it is one of the most exciting stories I've read in the past year. The cast of characters is intriguing and creepy cool. Power and greed replace the ideals and moral justice of the young ambitious criminal defense attorney working for her famous dad's lawfirm. Every character is interesting and suspicious. The diabolical and sadistic twists and turns will keep your earbuds glued to your head and you'll find yourself checking the locks on your doors at night. The Prime suspect mysteriously disappears before the first trial ends. Several cases later she finds herself victim of a copycat criminal that baits her into horror and confusion when she once again finds herself called upon to defend a doctor accused of a newly discovered set of serial murders. All Thrill seekers are gonna love this.
Starts with a botch up in the sale of a heart. The heart disappears along with the money - This was blamed on an innocent doctor and the doctor cut off his hand to escape. Then bodies are found where the victim has been mercilessly tortured before being killed. Good book.
"One scary book... A wild and terrifying ride until what is perhaps the most satisfying ending in mystery fiction this year..."
Great Author! Have loved all of his books.
A scary book...a stunner, a chiller, and a tour de force. People Magazine---"a more potent rush than anything brewed by Starbucks. Consider yourself warned..."
Awesome book, couldn't put it down!! I really enjoyed this scary mystery. It got rave reviews. I didn't figure out the ending until the end, which is unusual for me. People magazine: "A more potent rush than anything brewed by Starbucks. Consider yourself warned...expect the unexpected throught the heart-stopping finale". This is one book you don't want to miss!
When a killing field is unearthed in the Oregon woods, it's linked to a Portland surgeon whose increasingly aggressive behavior and explosive temper have already drawn the attention of his colleagues. Neophyte attorney Amanda Jaffe takes second chair to her father, a successful criminal lawyer retained by Dr. Vincent Cardoni when he is charged with multiple counts of murder. The victims have one thing in common: they are missing vital organs, which were clearly harvested by an expert surgeon. Good Thriller
Protags: Amanda Jaffe and Bobby Vasquez
Setting: Portland, OR
1st Sentence: "A lightning flash illuminated the Learjet that waited on the runway of the private airstrip moments before a thunderclap startled Dr. Clifford Grant."
This was a very suspenseful book but gory in some parts. There were a lot of characters to keep track of but an even number of good guys and bad guys. Margolin writes a thrilling book and I always look forward to his next one.
It was great! I have a new series to read now....!
Great thriller, you really can't figure out "who-done-it"- which I love!
***Excellent,could not put it down!***
Great story full of suspense. Keeps you guessing right to the end. I couldn't put it down until I finished it.
I happened to have loved this book, I couldn't put it down.
You won't be able to put it down! Suspenseful, twists and turns and lots of action!
I had to knock off a star because I guessed the identity of the killer far in advance of it being revealed as even a possibility. That being said, this was a quite entertaining murder mystery thriller that was well worth reading. I enjoyed reading it, and while I wouldn't be likely to read it again, I would recommend it to others.
Fast moving, action packed, good read
This is a scary book......
A really good "Who done it?" book!
A stunner....chiller thriller! Scary, twisted and brilliant.
Typical Phillip Margolin -- 400 riveting pages. This one features Amanda Jaffe, young new defense attorney in Portland, Oregon. You'll be gripped from the first moment until the last.
I loved the book. It was very exciting and I couldn't put it down.
Lot to say about this one; Begin with detective Bobby Vasquez receiving an anonymous tip that a major cocaine deal is about to go down in a secluded mountain cabin. Lacking warrants or backup, he breaks into the cabin and instead of discovering cocaine, finds two severed heads in the refridgerator of a basement operating room. And we're off and running! I guess I could go on and on but you probably want to know what I thought of this audio. I think that this book could easily be placed beside those of James Patterson and Jonathan Kellerman on your bookshelves, it's truly up to par with those gentlemen! If this were a book and not an audio, I would say that it's a real page turner - since it's an audio, I don't know what to say - but you get the picture - right? If you've got a long drive, or just a rainy night with nothing good on the television, slap this one in your player and lay back - and enjoy! Thanks for lookin'. Unabridged Edition. 6 cassettes. Running Time Approx 8 1/2 hours
This book is very exciting and hard to put down. It has some unexpected turns in the plot. I recommend it.
This book was too much for me.Michael Palmer compared it to the suspence of RED DRAGON.
Good thriller with a determined cop, Amanda, who is determined to catch a sadistic, serial killer who's hobby is learning about pain thresholds through his victims. Though it doesn't matter to me one way or another, the identity of the killer only becomes obvious during the last quarter of the book. Since the killer is so heinous because of the methods he uses, I recommend you don't read this alone at night.
very good and ready to be available for share
The really is a New York Times Bestseller. Never figured it out till the end.
Good legal thriller. This author is always worth the read if you like this genre.
story about organ stealing and harvesting the hearts of people not yet dead. it was interesting.
I have long been a fan of Philip Margolin and after reading Gone But Not Forgotten, I had to have more of his books and Wild Justice is worthy of his reputation. The villain in this book is even more evil, sick and twisted. The torture he inflicts on his victims is too horrible to think about, yet we keep on reading:) But, justice prevails in the end and the punishment is right-on!
A bolt of lightning brings a blond-haired stranger into Laura Shane's life. But is he the guardian angel he seems? The devil in disguise? Or the master of a haunting destiny beyond time and space?
Great, well-written mystery! One that is hard to put down. Margolin is a talented writer.
This is a very exciting and riveting book I enjoyed it greatly.
Another thriller from Margolin featuring Bobby Vasquez.
This was very entertaining. However, I guessed the mystery within the first 75 pages so that was a bit disappointing. However I liked the main character and will probably read more of this series.
This book shows a little wear on the cover but in perfect readable condition. Phillip Margolin is as always an exciting storyteller.
Exciting! I really enjoyed this book.
