As a school psychologist and mother of a three year old I was very disappointed by this book. It was poorly written and at times I felt the mother jumped on the bandwagon as labeling her child as having "something wrong with him" when the behaviors she described were developmentally normal. I see teachers every day who think that every child who does not do well in their class has AD/HD. There are a multitude of reasons that children have difficulty paying attention in school and do not sit like dolls in their chairs all day. The teachers themselves, the curriculum and the way the classroom is organized are just some of the things that are never looked at; the problem is always described as being with the child. I enjoyed the therapist sessions the mother described in the book, and it was clear that she found a great therapist. I felt like shaking the author with many of her comments, and her writing style was whiny and aggravating. There have to be better written books by parents of children with AD/HD than this one.
