The heroine of the novel is downright annoying at times. Apparently, she is so naive about the ways of men, that Nitro has to explain everything to her. That's a little hard to believe. There were times, the heroine's internal and external dialogue made me sigh, but I found the courage to push on. If you can get passed that, and Nitro's constantly feeling insecure about the friendship between Josie and his friend, Hotwire, then I would say the book is an okay read. I found the first installment of the series to be better.

Having said that:

I am interested in reading the third installment of the series entitled "Able", because Josie's friend Claire seems like she has an interesting back story that I would enjoy hearing. The book was worth reading, just to get introduced to the next pairing in line. They treat Claire like a poor defenseless computer geek, with little physical strength, but I think there is going to be more to this woman. There just has to be!

Second book in a series. Josie McCall has been raised to be a soldier. Daniel Black Eagle is an explosive expert. Josie's dad is almost killed by a bob and Daniel and Josie team up to find them. Great adventure and romance with a lot of action.

This was my favorite of the mercenary series. I thought the story had a fast pace, stayed interesting, and I enjoyed the characters. I would recommend this book, although it might be best to do the whole series in order (it often is). Even if you find Ready lacking, give Willing a try.

Second book in Monroe's Mercenary series. The characters were interesting and the story moved fast. Nice addition to the series.

2nd in series. Light, quick, hawt! Good beach read. Again with the no cussing....Lucy Monroe needs to accept her characters for what they are and how mercenaries would speak. Plus again with the turgid nipples....go figure.

Cookie cutter story to the first, hero afraid of love, but good story.

Basically, it is sex, sex, & more sex with a weak plot thrown in. I guess it's ok if you like this type of genre, but way too weak for me.

A good, fun read in a good series. Wonderful how the hero and the heroine help each other to see themselves as more than an extension of their mercenary profession. The theme of the series of the heroine not trusting in her lovability and the hero who is afraid of long term relationships continues. Love the camaraderie between the hero and the characters from the book 1, Ready and look forward to how they will come together again in book 3, and Able. Well told and makes you believe in the story. A good read for women and men equally.

Willing is the 2nd in the "Ready, Willing & Able" series by Lucy Monroe. It was good but not as good as the other 2 in my opinion.

This is the story of Daniel (Nitro) and Josie McCall who had worked with Nitro in the past. She no longer wants to be a soldier but now her dad has partnered with Nitro in his mercenary school. Trouble follows them as they work to remove themselves from their chosen careers as mercenaries but they find healing with each other.

The second in a romantic-thriller trilogy. In this instance, Daniel would be a protector but can't convince Josie, who is herself a soldier, that she needs anyone to look out for her.

Josie was trained by her dad as a mercenary soldier and she's the best, however she turned away from that life for a normal job working in computers. Now someone has torched the camp and her dad is missing. Josie will use every skill she has to find him. Daniel, a bomb expert as well as a trained soldier, is attracted to Josie and wants to protect her...as well as touch, taste and...well, you get the idea. Josie and Daniel fight their attration to each other as they work together to find her father. EROTIC story. Not for the shy reader.

book 2 in Lucy Monroe's mercenary trilogy

back cover:
Josie McCall has been raised to be a soldier, and she could be the best - if she wanted it. Instead, she left her dad's mercenary school behind for a normal job in computers. But now that someone has torched the school and her dad is MIA from the hospital, Josie's going to use every bit of her merc training to find him and hunt down the culprits who took him. Josie knows a lot about explosives, hand-to-hand combat, and tracking. What she doesn't know about is sex. She has no idea what to do with the volcanic attraction she feels for her dad's new partner, Daniel Black Eagle. And that feels more dangerous than any bomb...

Daniel knows exactly what he'd like to do about that attraction. The brooding exposives expert can't get within five feet of Josie without wanting to touch, taste, and protect her - even if he's sure she would happily drop-kick him if she knew one sizzling moment of his fantasies. But he'll save it for later. Right now, he's got his hands full figuring out who set that bomb and took Josie's dad. Daniel's sure of one thing, though - he's not letting Josie out of his sight for a single second. Convincing the cutest, most desirable trained soldier he's ever met that she needs a bodyguard isn't going to be easy. But if she'll let him, he'll show her he's willing to do whatever it takes to keep her safe, and along the way, he'll make her feel every inch a woman...
