Growing up in the fifties, Nora, the daughter of writers, spent a number of years in London among a circle of famous authors. Her experiences of the city, of working there and of love are well written and an "up close and personal" account of some intrquing people and events.
I am addicted to memoirs of young American's in Europe and this is one of the better ones I have read. We see Nora Sayre, the daughter of absentee parents (they always are in these rich girl's abroad stories) who goes to Europe to become a journalist. During her time in London she meets fascinating people throughout the literary world. It was a fun, interesting read and had lots of good sources for further things to check out.
