Because of Winn-Dixie Author: When ten-year-old India Opal Buloni moves to Naomi, Florida, with her preacher father, she doesn't know what to expect. She is lonely at first--that is until she meets Winn-Dixie, a stray dog who helps her make some unusual friends. Because of Winn-Dixie, Opal begins to let go of some of her sadness and finds she has a whole lot to be thankful for.

Absolutely love this book! For every child at heart or animal lover out there. Because Of Winn Dixie is a very touching story and just proves to you that animals can be best friends too.

This book is about a girl named Opal whose goes to the supermarket (winn-dixie) and find a friend who she names winn- dixie, since this dog has been with her she is happier and is solving long term issues.

Very entertaning book about a girl who finds an unusual dog. They run into many troubles like in a grocery syore and a church. It is an excellent book to read!

This was an amazing book for me to read. I saw the movie and was intrigued, so I wanted to read the book. It is beautifully well-written, and I would love to know someone else gets to enjoy it.(:
Wonderful, sweet and lovable. This book exceeded my expectations and is one of my all-time favorites! (I know it's supposed to be a children's book, and my 6 & 7-year-olds loved it too) but it's just so endearing.
If your child is between the ages of 8-12 it's the perfect read. My duaghter enjoyed the characters and their settings. I would highly recommend and a bonus would be to compliment it with a showing of the movie after.
