Has anyone read this by Jennifer Donnelly?  It got a wonderful review on AAR, but it's not in our system.  Wondered if anyone has read her and/or this book.

I found this book about a week ago at bookcloseouts.com. Try ISBN 0007191324. I haven't read it yet.

Genie, let me know how you like it, if you can.

Thanks.

I'd be happy to, but it'll be awhile before I get to it. I have a dozen or so books I want to read first. You might try reviewing the comments at historicalfiction.org. I really like that site. I've found a number of good recommendations there.

It seems that many of the members like the first book, The Tea Rose. But not a lot of them have read The Winter Rose yet.

Also, you might want to ask your question on the historical fiction forum here at PBS. We have lots of active participants. Someone must have read it. :)

Perhaps its too new since it's a 2008 pub date?

historicalfiction.com says it came out in '06 (?), and the reviewer gave it a fantastic review.  It's going on my wishlist!  thanks.
