Back Blurb- Born on the same day as Queen Victoria, 18-year old Julia Forrest led a sheltered life, free from the torments of the wicked world around her. But when her mother was suddently killed, the lovely young ingenue was cast into a sordid milieu of intrigue & deception. For Julia discovered that her past has been an ingenious fiction created by her mother...that her present was threatened by murderous political radicals who hoped to use her for their own gain...and that any future she wished to have with the arrogant but devilishly handsome Philip Sommerville might end in violent death. Too free herself from the nefarious grasp of all those who would destroy her, Julia was forced to accompany Philip to the estate where all the lies had begun- the dark & mysterious Winterhall.

Likeable characters, good story line and a plot that is interesting and does not reveal the ending. Intrigue, drama, mystery and of course romance. I enjoyed this book enough to read it more than once.
