Check out Wiped Out by Barbara Colley under the following ISBN.  It has no Wish List.  The book has seven people on the WL.  I checked Amazon and found that the book that is WL is the large print version.  I wonder if somwhow the wrong ISBN was chosen.

I've just finished it and really enjoy the series.

This is the large print version:

  • ISBN-10: 1587249510
  • ISBN-13: 978-1587249518
  •

    Hey, Geri!

I just finished the second book in this series and am sort of ambivalent about it. I have the third one (Polished Off) wishlisted, but I've decided that if I'm not more enthusiastic after that one I'll give up on it. Does it get better? It just seemed like Charlotte was too whiny and anxious in the second one, the one where she has her 60th birthday, and I wanted to slap her upside the head a lot. LOL

I thought she was a bit better in Wiped Out.  Not quite so whiny.  Still on the nosy, crabby side though.  She keeps proclaiming she's not a gossip but she sure will evesdrop - at the drop of the right phrase.  Gives her opinion in a hot flash as well.  Maybe that goes with being over 60.  You'll hear from me in a hot flash!  LOL

LOL, Geri...that gossip thing was the other thing that bugged me. She kept saying how she made sure her employees didn't gossip, but I do recall saying out loud (about her) at least once, "what a nosy old cow!" LOL

I think I'll take the third book off my WL--if things don't improve there isn't much point in reading on. Thanks, ladies!

My daughter met her at a romance writers' symposium  in New  Orleans- yes, that's correct, romance - where she was signing her first book. My daughter told me that there several new writers there and not all were romance. Anyway, I still have the HC book inscribed to me. Even though the character is older - I like that - I ,like most of you, got a little  miffed at  the main character's  quirks. I have her 03 book, but it hasn't moved from its place on my TBR stack for quite some time. After what I've read here today, I think I'll post it to my shelf!    Mann
