I noticed that I have a WL book on hold that the system must have done for me since I had a wish granted for that book in a different binding. It's en route to me now (yay!!) and was wondering if I should leave the hold book there until I get the other in the mail. I'm 1 of 1 wishers on the hold book. Hold means I won't be offered that book/binding if it becomes available, correct? I don't want both copies, but if something crazy happens in transit to the one on the way, I'd like to still be 1/1 for the other binding. Am I doing that right? Do you normally wait until you receive a book before you delete the other bindings of it from your WL? (And does the system always place them on automatic hold - this is nice!)

I usually wait until I receive the other copy ... unless I desperately need room (which happens more than you might think!)

Yes, the system will normally place the other bindings on hold (but only if it knows they are alternate bindings of the same book, PBS doesn't have all books linked). Yup, with a book on hold you retain your place in line, but the book will not be offered to you unless you take it off hold.
