I listed Donna Tartt's book The Goldfinch almost a week ago. It has 97 wishers. I am now on my third person it has been offered to> Why don't people remove books from their wish lists if they no longer want them. All thiree of these people are active members, at least they have added to their wish listss in 2018. I'm sure there are others out there who want the book. I'm just frustrated. This is why I usually only post books to "friends" who I know want the books!!! Last Edited on: 9/1/18 12:03 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |

I think it’s frustrating too, but I guess I’ve been a member long enough that I’m just used to it and I don’t worry about it anymore, it’s just the way PBS works. You have to wait, there’ll be someone wanting it sooner or later when the WL is still that long. It’s when there are fewer wishers on a book and then the book goes through all of them and your book is put on your shelf, now that’s annoying. The Goldfinch won the Pulitzer and has been a wildly popular book for a while now; everyone had it WL. In fact there are quite a few WL versions out there (I know because I had it WL in every one of the versions). I even had a hold on the ebook at my library and that’s how I got it early. Not everyone removes duplicates (or they aren’t linked so they miss them) when they get a wish granted. Then they get another offer and it reminds them & they decline. The way I see it, PBS = patience, books, surprises! |

you are frustrated because 3 people have not requested? Lord, I have had books that went through way more than 3. I think about 7 or 8 is the most I have seen but I think many people go through more than that. |

And remember, for a lot of people, this past week was last week for summer vacation opportunities with many school districts starting school on Tuesday. |
