If someone posts a book that is on auto on my wish list, don't they know right away that it was accepted?   I have had a lot of wish list books time out because the person offering the book has not responded.  99% of my wish list books are on auto.

I would think they would still be on the site when it was accepted.  I have two now that will time out in a little while.  Dang makes me mad.

I have all my books on autorequest. Yes, that has happened to me, too. What gets me is when I see others on the wishlist receiving the book while I'm waiting for the sender to accept the book and ends up not answering it. Then I go back at number 1 on the list, but it is shorter because others got theirs before I did.

Bertie,

Your request takes 1 hour to show up on their My Account page in the event you want or need to cancel.    You can circumvent this by sending them a PM from the book request on Your My Account Page.

I thought if it was on auto, you didn't have to wait the hour

It would not show up as a wishlist hold because the WL book was on automatic -- it would immediately go into the 1-hour buyer's remorse period before showing up on the posting members page as a requested book. If it were a new member who did not understand how the system worked, I could see them missing it -- of course, in order to miss it, they would also have to neglect reading their emails, since the presets are for members to be sent an email when a book is requested.

I know how frustrating it is when a wishlist book becomes available and then it times out. But also keep in mind that there are members who wait until the last second to acknowledge the requested book so that they have longer to mail it...but when you are on the waiting end, it always seems like they will never mark that they can mail it!

For books on auto-request Bertie, you do not have to go online to accept the book offer.  But the 1 hr. wait period applies under almost all circumstances.
