Ok, I have a hard cover book that doesn't show up with the ISBN. Not listed in Amazon. When I type in the ISBN a paperback copy comes up. Where is the best place to list this book? It's wishlisted. I went to the love and romance section and I'm not sure I can just post it. I don't want to do a big no-no.

edited because I hit enter.

You need to post it without an ISBN.

In the L&R board there's a thread called Is This On Your WL-you could offer it there.

What book is it?

Sorry, I should have put that. It's in my sig. It's The Virgin's Secret by Victoria Alexander.

I think it's a book club edition. I received it from someone here and it was listed as PB. I told the person (nicely) that sent it to me that she double check when she posts something that they match but when I typed in the ISBN up pops PB. I know you can go and enter it another way but it seems like so much work. Although I may have to do just that anyway.

There can be many times when have to enter them manually.  Publishers sometimes re-use the ISBN's and only the binding that appears when it pops up on PBS can be the one that is "correct" in PBS world.  Otherwise you have to enter them manually and get a specific ISBN from PBS.

Those short 5 or 6 number ISBNs are all books that have been manually entered.  Either the book is too old, or the number was reused such as for both the HB, the PB, and the audio.

I do recommend posting such books under the genre listings so folks can find them.  Love And Romance has a list called "Is this on your WL"

There's 3 copies posted under one ISBN and 2 WL on another.  But it can't hurt to offer it up.

You can tag the book with the same binding yours is with your book's special ISBN.  Then if someone wants to find it then it's there to be seen!

Thank you for all the good advice. I started to go the list without ISBN route but they wanted dimensions and I didn't have them. Ok, get a ruler but I thought I would just go to Amazon. Typed in the ISBN and up pops the PB again. So I went to L&R and listed it there. I'm going to try tagging it too.

Ok, I went the route of listing it without an ISBN. I was able to find the dimensions etc on a website other than Amazon. Matched the ISBN and all and the book is ready to go out today.

Thank you for all the good advice and assistance.
