Just got notice my wishlisted Green Darkness by Anya Seton has been granted...I've been wanting to read this forever!  Written over 20 years ago (1982)  I've never even seen it offered at the many book sales I frequent.  Hopefully, it won't disappoint.

I was fortunate enough to find a hc copy of this at a library bookstore last year.  Haven't gotten around to reading it though.  Please post back and let us know if you like it or not.  I may have to move it up my TBR mountain :)

Cool! Yes please let us know what you thought when you're finished--I just discovered Anya Seton this summer and am looking forward to reading more of her books.

This sounds good. I just checked and my library has it, I think I'll run over and grab it tomorrow if I get a chance.

I read this way back when. Though I don't remember the details of the story I remember how very much I loved this book! I need to reread it. I don't keep very many books these days, but this one is definitely a keeper. My friend, who happens to be 84 and has read a GREAT many books, has told me to read Katherine  next. She liked that book by Ms Seton even more.

Green Darkness was published at least 10 years earlier than your book date of 1982. Dates in the system here are from the  early 70's.

I've had Katherine on my WL for years....still waiting. I've never seen it at a yard sale or UBS, although I always look...

I have loved her stuff for years, had 'em all before leaving England (she is very popular there) to live here many years ago. Not one of her books disappoints.  Green Darkness is a favorite, still have an old falling apart copy and re-read it now and again.  Next to Katherine I liked it best.  It has "Time Travel" and reincarnation etc.  You will all enjoy it.

Cheers, Margaret

After reading this thread I decided to give Anya Seton a try - I couldn't believe my luck - I did a search for green darkness and there was a hardcover listed.  Lucky me - it's on the way!

Then - I went to a garage sale and they had a second printing of Devil Water for 50 cents.

What is the opinion on Devil Water??

I'm thinking I should be running out to buy a lottery ticket next.

I have Devil Water, too. It looks real interesting, but I have to put it off to finish my challenge books. I think it'll be high on my list once I finished the challenge, though.

I loved Katherine, it's one of my favorites. I liked it better than Green Darkness.
