Witch Child is the story of a young girl who is forced to immigrate to the US in the late 1680's because her Grandmother is killed as a witch in England.  It's the story of her travels and settlement into the new country, trying to find her way, alone.  The book is set up as a diary and the format give an interesting perspective on her trials and tribulations.  This book seemed to be quite well written and researched, and for a young adult piece, added enough detail to keep me interested.   I enjoyed it!

There is even a website that discusses the book!

Ooooh, I love this book.

I'm thinking of picking up her latest book- Sovay. It's based on the folk song- Sovay about a girl who dresses as a man and robs travelers. It's historical fiction set in 1783.

I just ordered the sequel to Witch Child called Sorceress.  I don't know if it's any good, but I will see!
